| ~ Egg Boi #23, to Sir Pentious. |
The Egg Boiz are supporting characters in Season 1 of the adult animated series Hazbin Hotel. They made their debut as the secondary antagonists in the Hazbin Hotel pilot. They were Sir Pentious' creations and minions until their eventual deaths at the end of the show's first season, barring one egg named Frank, who survived.
They are all voiced by Joe Gran (who also voiced Adolf Hitler in Literally Hitler) in the pilot, and by Blake Roman in the series proper (who also voices Angel Dust).
History[]
The Egg Boiz are seen in the Sir Pentious' airship and one compliments Sir Pentious that conquering hell was a great plan and another one said Sir Pentious is really showing them what for and the Egg Boi likes how he shots sinners with his ray gun (with Sir Pentious punching the Egg Boi on the wall as a result), and an Egg Boi said that he wishes Sir Pentious will shoot him with his ray gun.
When a familiar voice calls jokingly "Edge Lord", Sir Pentious thought that one of his Egg Boiz called him by that nickname but an Egg Boi said that it wasn't them. Then, a cherry bomb pops out into Sir Pentious' ship window and explodes. This it was revealed to be Cherri Bomb, and the Egg Boiz hold their weapons to fight Cherri.
Later, when Sir Pentious was going to attack the Happy Hotel, Alastor summons a tentacle monster demon that destroys the ship and many Egg Boiz. When Sir Pentious finally woke up after the ship's destruction caused by Alastor, an Egg Boi was still alive after the destruction and he asks Sir Pentious if he wants to shoot him with his ray gun, causing Sir Pentious to lose his senses again.
When Sir Pentious has them following Alastor around, they happily oblige, despite Alastor's previous encounters with Pentious. They showed Alastor similar loyalty, following him wherever he goes and following his orders to the best of their ability.
In the finale of season 1, the Egg Boiz are onboard Pentious' airship when he pilots it in a suicide attack against Adam, and most are killed along with him, though the first episode of season 2 shows at least one of them survived. While Pentious was redeemed and ascended to Heaven, the Egg Boiz, being Hellborn demons (or simply not posessing souls due to being artificially created), could not. Pentious is depressed, feeling lonely without them, so Emily creates some angelic versions of the Egg Boiz to keep him company; these new versions appear as golden spheres with big smiles and feathered wings.
In season 2, it is revealed that Sir Pentious used to be partners with Baxter, a self-proclaimed "mad scientist" and expert in bio-engineering. The Egg Boiz were created via cooperative experimentation of the two; however, because Baxter seemed willing to put the Egg Boiz lives in danger through further experiments, they eventually parted company, Pentious taking the Egg Boiz with him.
Behaviors[]
They all share a personality of being foolish, laid-back, dimwitted, and having extreme loyalty to their boss Sir Pentious, despite the mistreatment that their boss does to them every chance he gets.
However, some of the Egg Boiz would even agree with the enemies of their own boss, such as when Angel Dust insulted Sir Pentious and his hat, as well as when one of them acknowledged the roast Angel Dust made.
Episode three of the series shows they are not all that smart; one of them - Frank - witnesses Alastor's conversation with the other Overlords, and learns that Carmilla is the one who killed the Exterminator. Alastor sternly tells him to keep this a secret. Frank foolishly spills the secret to Pentious almost immediately, but fortunately, Pentious did not believe him and dismissed it as their typical silly talk.
Trivia[]
- It's unknown whether the Egg Boiz didn't ascend to heaven because of being hellborn, or due to not posessing souls due to being artificially created. If the latter is true, this could imply that a hellborn demon might have the slimmest chance of being able to be redeemed or go to heaven.
- Each of the Egg Boiz has a number written on their back to help identify them.
- Unlike most of the Egg Boiz, Egg Boi #23 seems to have some sort of masochistic tendencies, as he is shown to have a desire to be shot by his boss Sir Pentious, and constantly talks about this life to a rather uncomfortable degree.
- The only one with a proper name is Frank who is the Egg Boi that inform Alastor that Carmilla killed the Angel and also presumably the sole survivor of the Egg Bois at the end of season 1.
