~ Dr. Nega's only on-panel words to the Zone Cops. |
Dr. Eggman Nega, commonly known as Dr. Nega, is an antagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series by Archie Comics. He is Dr. Eggman's descendant from the far future, though originally introduced as his counterpart from the Sol Zone. His schemes had threatened both the Prime and Sol Zones, and brought upon a conflict between him and the Zone Cops.
Biography[]
Pre-Super Genesis Wave[]
Dr. Nega's past is shrouded in mystery. Some sources claim him to be a descendant of the Robotnik family hailing from Silver's time period, while others claim that he is Dr. Eggman's counterpart from the Sol Zone, where Blaze the Cat hails from. His first known scheme involved trying to steal the Jeweled Scepter, to which end he employed an army of robot pirates led by Captain Whisker. This plan was foiled by Blaze and her allies, Sonic the Hedgehog among them.
Later, Nega became involved in a war between the Zone Cops, which caused great damage to their home No Zone and a lockdown of the Cosmic Interstate. At one point, he crossed into the Prime Zone while fleeing from several Zone Cops and dropped a capsule containing the Cyan Sol Emerald while fighting them off, kickstarting the events of the Treasure Team Tango arc, before leaving the Zone. His whereabouts from that moment and up to the Super Genesis Wave are unknown.
Post-Super Genesis Wave[]
After the reality was altered when Eggman interrupted Sonic's attempts at reversing the Super Genesis Wave, Eggman Nega became nearly identical to his main series counterpart, having devised the same schemes as in Sonic Rush and Sonic Rivals series. He would continue to seek the Sol Emeralds, and ordered Captain Whisker to hand them over to him if he found any.
Trivia[]
- Due to legal issues, Eggman Nega could never make a full appearance or be called by his full name during the comic series' run. At times he would appear as a silhouette, or riding a vehicle which completely obscured him, and he was only referred to as "Dr. Nega". The only time Eggman Nega appeared unobscured was in a non-canon Off-Panel strip in Issue 24 of Sonic Universe.
