~ Eight-Armed Willy to Flapjack and Captain K'nuckles.

Eight-Armed Willy is the main antagonist of the 2008 Cartoon Network animated comedy series The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.

He served as the primary threat for the heroes and was one of the biggest menaces in the seas.

He was voiced by Richard McGonagle, who also voices Chameleon Sr. in OK K.O. Let’s Be Heroes, Carrey O’ Key and Peeps in Regular Show, the Lava Monster in Samurai Jack, Dr. Peace in No More Heroes, Carmine Falcone in Batman: The Telltale Series, and Apocalypse in X-Men Legends.

Appearance[]

Eight-Armed Willy is a large dark red octopus who wears a pirate ship for a hat with an eye patch. He has many scars and has a very long nose and razor sharp teeth. It was revealed later in the show that he wears said eye patch because he's blind in that Blank eye.

Biography[]

Eight-Armed Willy is a giant octopus from the animated series The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. He is a notorious figure in Stormalong Harbor known for his wicked reputation, love of candy, and eventual moral redemption.

Biography and Role

  • Antagonist & Reputation: Willy is initially presented as a dangerous sea monster who has terrorized Stormalong for years, known for eating adventurers and whales. He is considered the "ultimate yardstick" for danger in the show.
  • Motivation: Despite his fearsome image, his favorite treat is actually candy, which often puts him at odds with the main characters Flapjack and Captain K'nuckles, who are also searching for the fabled Candied Island.
  • Key Episode: A significant turning point for Willy occurs in the episode "Willy!" (or "Willy! (Or Won't He?)"), where Flapjack makes a bet to capture him and prove himself an adventurer. During this episode, Willy gives everyone in Stormalong his ink due to a town shortage, an act which essentially marks his turn from villainy.
  • Redemption: After this event, he is largely considered reformed, although he maintains his gruff exterior. He shows a soft spot for Flapjack and an unexpected fondness for singing.

Personality[]

Eight-Armed Willy is known around Stormalong to be evil, maniacal, wicked, and all-around vicious. He enjoys eating adventurers and whales alike, but his favorite treat is actually candy. He also enjoys singing.

In the episode "Willy", he gives everyone in Stormalong his ink because there was an ink shortage in town. This was possibly the mark in the series where he stopped being evil, essentially redeeming himself.
