Come the present time, Ex Machina becomes active again, and Eirene and Finni are given orders to attack the city of Grams.
As they do, they encounter an android from a later period than them. Upon meeting Laxi, the Eirene has Finni engage the Halidom android while ordering her not to kill Laxi upon finding out she houses two hearts which drives her curiousity. However, during the fight, Finni goes out of control forcing Eirene to shut her down. After which, Anassa orders for Finni to be scrapped only for Eirene to demand Finni be given another chance.
After which, Eirene has Finni go back to Grams to continue the attack while also giving her orders to avoid combat with Laxi. While Finni is doing that, Eirene sneaks into the Halidom and steals Mascula's body. However, When she returns, she finds out Finni lost control again and cause serious damage to other androids. With Anassa preparing again to have Finni scrapped, Eirene demands her to reconsider.
This time, Eirene and Finni go straight to deal with Laxi, bringing Mascula's body with them. With Mascula unable to comprehend his body being controlled by the enemy, Laxi is unable to activate Eden Mode. However, he quickly overcomes this as he realizes that destroying his body is the only way to keep his friends safe, allowing Laxi to reactivate Eden Mode. However, upon doing so, Finni starts to lose control again.
Noticing this, Eirene attempts to shut her down again, only to find that Anassa has taken over control and initiates a self-destruct in Finni. At first, Eirene feels she has no choice but to accept this, but Laxi tells her that she has a choice. In the end, Eirene asks Laxi to help prevent Finni from being destoyed, resulting in Laxi using Eden mode to shut down Finni's self-destruct and remove it. Anassa then appears demanding why Eirene and Finni failed in their mission. Upon which, Eirene tells her that she will no longer serve Ex Machina, causing Anassa to deem her as having gone rogue.
With nowhere else to go, Eirene and Finni are invited to live in the Halidom.
