Gustavo, better known as El Bandito, is a minor antagonist in Be Cool, Scooby Doo!.
Biography[]
It was said that El Bandito was an outlaw who robbed off of people and made it his treasure, and that when he died, his spirit will do as much as protect his treasure from not being stolen. In the beginning scene, we have a couple who are just simply cloudwatching in a graveyard until the man spots El Bandito to the side of him, where violently, El Bandito chases them out of the cemetery.
Once the gang arrive in a Mexican town, where they are celebrating Dia de los Muertos, the tale of El Bandito is told by Fred, who was somewhat inspired by El Bandito and wanted to pretty much have these same traits. The gang then talk to the mayor of the town, who simply believed that El Bandito did not exist, and then they visit a shop, talking to the keeper named Gustavo. He knew everything about El Bandito and so the gang came up with a plan. They go to the cemetery to see El Bandito's tomb, which was closed, but then would be opened since on Dia de los Muertos, they would open tombs and graves each time they celebrate this. The Gang are then confronted by El Bandito, who is on top of the tomb and chases the gang.
Later on, the gang go and investigate the tomb and find a clue to his treasure, since El Bandito locked them in there and are running out of oxygen. Then, once out of the tomb, and they find El Bandito, Fred has a Mexican standoff with him and the trap is set off, trapping him and is then revealed to be Gustavo, since he knew who El Bandito was. He was greedy and wanted El Bandito's treasure but did not know that for all this time, his treasure was underneath Gustavo. That ends to the mayor jumping in and getting all his treasure.
