~ El Burro flirting with the GTA Protagonist. |
"El Burro" is a main character in the 1997 video game, Grand Theft Auto. Similarly to the El Burro in GTA 3, he contacts the protagonist through a pay phone and gives him various assassin jobs.
He was voiced by Gary Penn, who also played Samuel Deever and Bubby in the same game.
Appearance[]
El Burro is a tall Caucasian male who could be considered obese on some levels. Burro is very similar looking to the El Burro in Grand Theft Auto III, despite that El Burro only being seen in some artworks with the Grand Theft Auto counterpart being physically seen in two missions.
Biography[]
During the "Mandarin Mayhem" chapter, El Burro is mentioned to be a long time rival of Uncle Fu when the protagonist is enforced to kill Fu's nephew, No Chin. After this, the protagonist contacts El Burro who makes him do several jobs including; exploding buses, paying his various informants, killing several police officers, causing gang wars between people and killing them, stealing buses full of chemicals and then killing the insane men who analyzed it.
After doing these jobs, the protagonist heads over to Sailor's Wharf in order to do more jobs including; meeting corrupt police officer Mike Tallon and later killing him, getting revenge for the death of El Burro's close friend, destroying and stealing various Yakuza limousines, killing one of Burro's men who betrayed him and stealing back his money, exploding a drug lab and stealing cars in order for them to be in a film Burro's friends are making. While doing these jobs Burro sends the protagonist messages in which he beckons the protagonist into having sex with him.
If the player is rewarded with enough points, El Burro informs the protagonist to visit him at his favorite bar, the Red Clam. When the player visits him, Burro will talk to the protagonist, implying that they have a sexual encounter afterwards, although this is never confirmed.
During the "Bent Cop Blues" chapter, Samuel Deever orders the protagonist to kill El Burro due to him taking part in a drug deal with the Rastas at Vice Shores Park. After the protagonist kills Burro, Deever will congratulate the protagonist saying "you could be a cop" due to the mission being harder than the other Bent Cop Blues missions.
