~ Elan's last words |
Elan was one of the main antagonists of Agents of Chaos I: Hero's Trial. The youngest daughter of Most High Priest Jakan, Elan was a priestess of the trickster goddess Yun-Harla. At the bequest of High Priest Harrar and Executer Nom Anor, Elan and her Fosh familiar, the former Jedi Knight Vergere, infiltrated the New Republic under the guise of defectors. Their goal was to convince the NRI to take them before Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, so that they might be able to poison the entire New Jedi Order.
At the climax of the novel, Elan's plot is foiled by Skywalker's brother-in-law, Han Solo. Whereas Elan is killed, Vergere escapes into New Republic space, shortly before giving Solo the antidote to the illness that has been infecting his sister-in-law, Jedi Master Mara Jade Skywalker. After Elan's death, it is only Harrar's friendship with Warmaster Tsavong Lah that saves him from disgrace. In the end, Nom Anor was took all the blame for Elan's failure.
