The Elden Beast is the main antagonist and the final boss of the 2022 action-RPG video game, Elden Ring. It is a divine being that resides within the Erdtree and acts as the last threat that the Tarnished must face before they could claim their title as Elden Lord.
As the vassal of the Greater Will, the Elden Beast is the pure embodiment and living incarnation of the Golden Order. As such, it is considered to be the true ruler of the Lands Between.
Appearance[]
The Elden Beast is a large creature with a transparent body. Its inners consist of bright dots and golden veins, resembling the branches of the Erdtree. Its head is featureless although it does possess a bright light in the center of the head, presumably an eye. It has long humanoid hands and eight wings protruding down its back. Its lower body is hidden in the water but can be seen when the beast takes flight. It has long legs and a tail that ends with the golden veins protruding out.
Personality[]
The Elden Beast is a mysterious creature whose motives remain enigmatic, but based on its position, it can be assumed that it is fulfilling its role as the physical incarnate of order. As such, it presumably punished Marika for her actions in shattering the Elden Ring and ensures she remains imprisoned in the Erdtree by possibly mutilating her body and keeping her crucified. It also ensures that the Tarnished does not become Elden Lord, regardless of their intentions.
The Elden Beast's actions suggest that it is willing to let the Lands Between be left forever in disarray instead of relinquishing control to the Tarnished. While it does not speak, it does appear that the Elden Beast is in fact an intelligent being, in terms of combat.

- The Elden Remembrance can be consumed for 50,000 Runes or handed to Enia to obtain either Marika's Hammer or the Sacred Relic Sword.
- The Elden Beast is widely considered to be an alien being, or at least of otherworldly origin, sent to the Lands Between by the Greater Will. It's described as a "golden star" that descended upon the world and is the physical manifestation of the Elden Ring itself.
- Elden Beast holy power or golden energy from it glowing veins was used to create the Gods.
