I made your wish come true, Sarah. And in return, well, you certainly made my wishes come true...
~ Eleanor to Sarah as she steals her identity.
He could see her, but he could see into her, too, and what he saw was a black, chaotic force that fed on human suffering. The fear, the pain, the death - she, not the Stitchwraith, was the cause of it.
~ The narrator describing Everett Larson's perception of what "Eleanor" truly is.

Eleanor is the main antagonist of the Five Nights at Freddy's: Fazbear Frights anthology novel series.

She initially appears to be an animatronic mannequin that somewhat resembles Circus Baby. However, as the series progresses, she ultimately turns out to be a shapeshifting creature of shadowy chaos that feeds off the agony of her victims. She is the archenemy of the Stitchwraith and Everette Larson.

Appearance[]

Eleanor is described by both Sarah and Everette Larson, and although the two descriptions are very similar, they both have some differences.

According to Sarah, Eleanor is some kind of femininely-designed humanoid mannequin with joints that allow her to move. She has large green eyes, pink lips and cheeks, and a face painted like a clown. Her reddish-colored hair is braided into two pigtails and her body is silver and slender like a supermodel. She has an on/off switch behind her and a heart-shaped button under her throat, similar to the pendant she gave to Sarah.

According to Larson, Eleanor has a more twisted, skeletal appearance, with thin, sickly-colored skin attached to her skull with apple-red lips. Her eyes are blackened and she has irregular zigzag teeth. Her sparse reddish hair is pulled into twin pigtails, suggesting that the only hair she has is in her pigtails. Unlike Sarah's description, instead of a button, she is said to have a heart-shaped pendant.

When Jake fights Eleanor, it is said that she grows tentacles on her toes, indicating that her feet are bare. Her true form is described as a black and chaotic force that feeds on human suffering. Once Jake absorbs Eleanor, her vessel's appearance is like that of an ancient mummy, with it being totally hollow.

In LadyFiszi's illustration, Eleanor is a taller, slimmer version of Circus Baby, with realistic pigtails and a face painted like a clown's. She wears a slightly torn blouse and skirt, both of which are red.

History[]

To Be Beautiful[]

In the second story of the first book, when walking home from school, a girl named Sarah finds a robot inside a car trunk in the junkyard. After taking her home and cleaning her up, she activates her. The robot introduced herself as Eleanor and promises to Sarah to grant her every wish to show her appreciation for Sarah's kindness. Sarah told to Eleanor that she wanted to be beautiful. Eleanor promised to Sarah to make her wish come true. She gave Sarah a necklace and told Sarah to never take it off. Then as Sarah goes to sleep every night, Eleanor surgically cut off Sarah's bodyparts and replaced them with metal junk which looked as normal body parts thanks to the necklace's cloaking technology, which made Sarah look more beautiful. However, in school, after Sarah's necklace accidentally falls off her, she sees what Eleanor had done to her. She goes home to find Eleanor, but after finding bags filled with her cut bodyparts in the garage, she sees Eleanor who after pressing a button on her own necklace, which looked identical to Sarah's, took the appearance of a pre-surgery Sarah. Taking her identity, Eleanor leaves Sarah to crumble into a mess of junk and die.

Stinger 1[]

Eleanor is indirectly mentioned when Detective Larson brings up that Sarah crumbling into junk left several girls in the school traumatized. It's said that "Sarah" disappeared.

Stinger 7[]

When Jake tries to save some trash from being dragged inside Afton's Amalgamation, he sees Eleanor, who jumps and punches him. Eleanor sucks out the evil from Jake (which was in fact pieces of William's soul) and after finishing, winked at him and threw herself backwards into the Amalgamation. She was slowly being integrated into the creature as the story went on. After it was said that she was fully integrated, Eleanor isn't mentioned until the story's climax. As Larson and Afton prepare to battle, Eleanor jumps out of the Amalgamation and starts crawling towards a vent. Afton looks at Eleanor pleadingly, but she ignores him and enters the vent. Afton's Amalgamation is then destroyed by the Puppet. Jake realises that William wasn't the only thing controlling his Amalgamation, and that the other creature was worse.

Stinger 8[]

Eleanor disguises herself as a homeless girl that was about to beat up by some Unnamed Drug Dealers before being saved by Jake. Her true identity isn't revealed until Epilogue 10.

Stinger 9[]

Eleanor introduces herself as Renelle. Jake explains he protected her from the drug dealers; "Renelle" thanks him for what he did, and explains that she's not afraid of Jake's appearance because the real monsters are the ones who take advantage of others. She recounts her backstory, explaining her father became obsessed about his work after her mother died, and eventually kicked her out after she stole some money. "Renelle" claims she still misses her father and Jake promises that he will help her find him.

Stinger 10[]

Larson sees a picture of Eleanor alongside a girl while investigating about several disappearances which are somehow related to a mysterious ballpit. He also discovers that a man named Dr. Talbert, who specialized in studying a silver liquid called Remnant, was often present at the sites where said disappearences occured. He decides to visit Talbert to figure out what this all means and what the Stitchwraith has to do with it.

Meanwhile, Jake and "Renelle" enters inside the house of Renelle's father, who turns out to beDr. Talbert himself. As Jake looks through the house, he sees a picture of Talbert and Dr. Phineas Taggart, the man who created the Stitchwraith and got killed by it. There is also a Talbert and his daughter, who, however, is shown to have black hair and brown eyes, rather than brown hair and blue eyes like the Renelle he saw; as Larson enters Talbert's house just in time, he sees Renelle changing her appearence so as to resemble the girl in the picture. Suddenly, he sees a vision of Eleanor. He realises she is a twisted evil entity that feeddoff people's suffering. He'so appalled by her evil he tries to shoot her with his gun, but loses consciousness before managing to do it, only managing to whisper her name. Eleanor then takes him on a twisted trip down her own memories, which reveal she was behind some of the events that have happened in the series: she was the one who gave the Plushtrap Chaser his human eyes and teeth: she was the one torturing Delilah, while pretending to be Ella; she was the one holding down Pete after he was hit by a truck, preventing him from passing on into the afterlife: she was the evil entity that was helping William Afton and jumped out of his body; she was also somehow related to the events in Hide and Seek and was the one who pushed Sam under the train in Blackbird.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, Dr. Talbert hugs Eleanor, who is still pretending to be his daughter, Jake realises she was the evil entity helping Afton. He pushes her against the wall, but Eleanor uses her illusion powers to make it look like he stabbed her. Talbert pulls out a gun and shoots Jake, destroying the Stitchwraith's battery pack and disabling the animatronic. Jake watches helplessly as Talbert gives his "daughter" some Remnant and realises this was Eleanor's plan all along - she wanted to absord Remnant so as to gain power and immortality. Eleanor then melts away her disguise, revealing her true form.

Stinger 11[]

After Larson travels through the memory world, eventually finding the ballpit. After he jumps inside of it, he's taken to another memory, set in a junkyard. Eleanor jumps out of a broken car and attacks him, but he manages to throw her into a trash compactor, weakening her in real life. Larson wakes up and catches a glimp of Eleanor's true form, an heinous and horrendous mannequin-shaped creature with tendrils made of blood coming out from her mouth, but Eleanor soon forces him back into the memory world. Larson finds himself inside a garage containing boxes full of Christmas decorations, defeating Eleanor again, using paperweights and a candelabra to attack her. The detective is then taken to a bedroom with a Freddy Fazbear poster, he manages to hit Eleanor with a bat after she jumps out of a closet. The two then have a final showdown inside a building resembling a factory, with Eleanor nearly prevailing.

Mwanwhile, the real world, Jake has managed to get up and is getting closer to Eleanor. The latter attempts to use her tendrils to keep her away, but Larson stops her by holding her down and strangling her. Jake uses his energy to heat her animatronic body until it burns, and then traps Eleanor inside one of her own memories, rendering her inoffensive and allowing Larson to wake up again. Two weeks later, Jake finds the ballpit where she kept the tormented souls of her victims, and turns the horrible scenarios they were forced to experience into happy memories, putting Eleanor's evil legacy to rest.

Personality[]

Although she may initially give the impression of having a gentle, thankful and sweet personality, this is just a disguise she uses to earn people's sympathy. She's actually an evil and manipulative creature, anembodiment of pure darkness. She tends to lie and deceive, and shows sociopathic behavior, being willing to sacrifice anyone to reach her goals. She also likes to tease and mock her adversaries, winking at Jake after absorbing the evil contained inside the Stitchwraith, and telling Sarah she made her wish come true while she's dying.

The only person so far she's shown to have some sort of positive relationship with is William Afton, as shown by the fact she gave him the power to create the amalgamation and sustained him when he was too weak. However it's unknown whether she collaborated with Afton out of genuine affection towards him, or simply as a way to gain something for herself; it's very likely to be the latter, as she eventually abandons him to die and doesn't show any sort of remorse for doing so.

Trivia[]

  • It's possible the device Eleanor was using was an illusion disk.
    • However this was disproved in Epilogue 10, revealing that the necklace was infused with Remnant created by Dr. Talbert.
  • It was previously speculated that she was one of the items infected by Andrew.
    • That, however, was proven incorrect, as it was ultimately confirmed by Epilogue 11 that Eleanor is a supernatural entity and not a possessed animatronic.
  • Eleanor is the one of the two main antagonists to serve said roles for an entire spin off to not be a version of William Afton. Closely followed by the Mimic.
  • It's possible she's the same entity as Spring Bonnie, as both of them are connected to the ball pit, are described to have dead eyes and seem to attack their victims lunging with their fangs into the throat.
  • The name Ella is a diminutive of Eleanor which opens the possibility of Eleanor being the Fazbear Frights version of a Charlie robot from the Novel Trilogy, or at least an animatronic with a similar purpose.
  • It's been speculated by fans that Eleanor also exists within the game series, and that its the true identity of Shadow Bonnie, Shadow Freddy, Nightmare, and/or Nightmarionne. However, its status as the former two is debatable since FNAF 3's "FOLLOW ME" minigames seem to imply that Shadow Bonnie and Shadow Freddy are completely separate beings, unless one assumes the Shadow can split into several beings or there was a retcon.
    • This speculation has been bolstered by the fact that Frailty, the very first story in the Tales from the PizzaPlex anthology series (which is heavily implied to be in the game timeline), focuses on what is heavily implied to be a victim of Eleanor.
  • Eleanor was speculated to be the true identity of Patient 46 before this was seemingly debunked by the Tales from The Pizzaplex books, which revealed that they're actually Gregory.
