Biography[]

Eleanor was a young, new administrative employee handling the reopening of the Mayflower department store in New Orleans with her colleagues. Two of them, buyer Jenna McCarthy and operations VP Ryan Parker, decided to vet her by slipping a roofie in her drink. While she was drugged, they made her go home with Keller Landreaux, the manager, with a notorious lewd reputation with woman. Keller got Eleanor alone at the store to admit his obsession over her, but she brushed her hand against his face while she was stretching, just before she passed out. Interpreting this as a consenting a pass, or too perverted to care, Keller raped Eleanor while she was unconscious. When she woke up, she broke free and ran, Keller chasing her and trying to get her to promise to never tell. In a rage, he caught her and strangled her to death, screaming his projected blame at her. Eleanor's last sight was her reflection, as the Mayflower's old mirror glass was behind her head, cracking once she died. Her spirit was stuck in a dimension behind the mirrors, and she was labeled missing when left in the basement to rot. Her dear sister Elizabeth put up flyers for months, but she wasn't found.

Keller ordered security guard Henry Schow to wipe all the footage. When Eleanor realized she could manipulate people's reflection, she used that for retribution. She first targeted Henry, possessing his reflection when he stared at the old mirror. When Henry dropped the flashlight, the reflection picked up the broken glass and chewed it, gouging Henry's jaws and throat but not killing him. he decided to quit out of terror and to save himself further violence. He was replaced by Max Matheson, a man grieving his fiancé Kayla's death in a car accident he nearly lost his own life from. His father Jack, the CEO reopening the store, has Max fill Henry's position while in therapy. As Max can see dead people's spirits as a result of the crash, Eleanor finds out and tries to get her message to him for her own ends. It starts with Max seeing her, then visions of the people she's out to murder. She communicates Jenna ripping her own head off to Max, and Jenna dies from being scared by her own reflection and crashing through the shower door, being beheaded by falling glass just after.

Noticing the coincidence, Max tries to find and speak to Eleanor but she shows him Ryan eviscerated and holding his own guts. She then makes Ryan's reflection cut his ankles and abdomen with a kitchen knife, painfully bleeding him to death. Max arrives on scene, seeing his father in a reflection of sewer water with cuts on his face. As Jack's reflection nearly disfigures him with a pizza cutter, Max barges in to save him. When Jack's gone, he promises Eleanor he'll do what she wants if she leaves his father alone, which is what she planned for her next move. Two detectives, Huston and Piccirilli, arrive at the Mayflower to question max about why he was at the scene, insulting his job in addition. Max defends his innocence and says he's glad for his work, then requests the duo leave.

When Max goes back to the store mirror to get answers on who Eleanor is, his light's reflection off a couple dozen surfaces leads to her missing poster outside the store. Max reaches out to Elizabeth, after having shooed her away when she put up the flyer, convincing her the best he can of the truth. They go through the store computer database and realize the time gap in the footage the night Eleanor was murdered. Questioning Henry, they don't get answers when he's too scared to talk, but he eventually admits Eleanor mangled him out of revenge for her death. He reveals Keller killed her and Eleanor is in the basement.

When Max and Elizabeth go back to try and find her, Keller arrives with a gun, ready to shoot and kill them both. After Eleanor is found dead, Max and Elizabeth fight Keller off, Elizabeth also nearly choked to death, which gives her the chance to see Eleanor again. When Max sees Eleanor in the mirror, Max shoves Keller at the mirror, and Eleanor crawls out to grab him. Eleanor drags Keller into her dimension screaming, savagely attacking him to stain the inside of the mirror with his blood, before the glass finally shatters. Max and Elizabeth are both shocked yet relieved, Elizabeth mourning her sister and glad it's over. Keller is considered on the run when he's not found. Henry turns himself into the detectives, who take his full remorseful confession and agree to record it. When he's alone, the one-way mirror cracks. Henry stares and mumbles "Hello, Eleanor", before the scream cuts to black with Henry's wails when Eleanor murders him to complete her revenge.
