Maxwell Dillon, best known by his alias Electro, is a supporting antagonist in the 2018 action-adventure superhero video game Marvel's Spider-Man.

He is one of Spider-Man's most recognizable and long-running enemies who is able to absorb and project massive amounts of electricity. After being broken out of The Raft by Doctor Octopus, Electro becomes a member of the Sinister Six.

He is voiced and mo-capped by Josh Keaton, who also voiced Revolver Ocelot in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Destroyman in No More Heroes, and both Duman and Valtor in the Nickelodeon dub of Winx Club.

Past[]

Born in Endicott, New York, Max Dillon was involved in an unspecified accident which granted him the ability to absorb electricity and deploy it in destructive blasts of energy, along with other assorted abilities. After becoming a super-criminal under the name Electro, Dillon encountered the masked vigilante Spider-Man, being the first villain with actual superpowers the wall-crawler ever fought. The two had many encounters over the years, with Spider-Man impeding Max's quest to become pure energy.

Eventually, sometime during Spider-Man's eight year tenure, Electro pulled off an unknown robbery (presumably a bank heist) that would have let him escape with millions. Spider-Man stopped and finally captured Electro but the villain killed five people; including Officer Alvaro Cordova. When the pictures Peter took of the fight were used by J Jonah Jameson to blame the deaths on Spider-Man, Peter Parker left the Daily Bugle for good. In the meantime, Electro was convicted of his many crimes and sentenced to spent the rest of his life in the Raft supermax prison.

Marvel's Spider-Man[]

During Mister Negative and the Inner Demons' rampage through New York, the Raft trial using Electro as a power source for the prison. When the villain refuses however, they return to the grid to avoid provoking him.

Electro is later secretly recruited by Doctor Octopus, and agrees to help Otto dismantle Norman Osborn as long as the doctor helps Max achieve his goal to become pure energy. After escaping from The Raft, Electro leads Spider-Man on a chase, luring him into a trap where he is ambushed and brutally beaten by the Sinister Six. With Spider-Man apparently out of the picture, Electro moves to attack the Police Department, holding the officers at bay until Spider-Man arrives, healed from his injuries, so Electro flies off. Later, Doctor Octopus uses Electro as a back-up plan after his attempt to kill Spider-Man with a bomb fails. Vulture brings Spider-Man to Electro and together the two fight on the superhero in an aerial battle. Eventually, Spider-Man is able to defeat them both and web Electro down for the police to find him.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2[]

Some time over the next two years, Electro manages to escape the Raft once again before coming into contact with Kraven The Hunter who is looking for the ultimate prey to kill him before he dies of cancer. Without any choice, Electro fights the Russian but is defeated and killed with Kraven stealing both his costume and tech; deeming him to have been a disappointing kill. Mary Jane Watson later finds Electro’s gear and a message from Kraven as she infiltrates the Hunter base in Greenwich Zoo.

Personality[]

Electro is one of the most carefree, destructive, and chaotic of Spider-Man's foes. He even takes part in bantering back and fourth with Spider-Man mid-fights. He is also thrill-seeking and enjoys getting a rush from danger. He can also be very homicidal, as it is noted that he has killed several cops over the course of his criminal activity. Despite his hot-headed nature, he seemed to get along well with Vulture, unlike Rhino and Scorpion.

Interestingly enough, Electro's voice actor, Josh Keaton, voiced Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the animated series The Spectacular Spider-Man.
His scars resemble his original comic outfit
