Elijah Hardin, also known as Alpha, is the main antagonist of the 2021 action horror film The Forever Purge, the fifth installment of The Purge franchise. He is the white supremacist leader of The Purge Purification Force, a paramilitary terrorist organization attempting to "purify" America via Purging those deemed to be non-American by their racist and ethno-nationalist standards.
He was portrayed by Jeffrey Doornbos.
Biography[]
Elijah is the individual who is responsible for orchestrating the "Forever Purge" program, a phenomenon where Purges continued to occur even after the official end of the sanctioned holiday hours. One of the protagonists, Adela, witnessed people being slaughtered in the vans of Purification upon her entering a safehouse with her husband. She would also be subject to the Ever After Purge by two Purgers named Thing 1 and Thing 2, though she manages to survive the encounter.
At El Paso, the border checkpoint to Mexico was opened for the next six hours. However, it was under martial law due to the Forever Purgers wreaking havoc, and the NFFA sends the military to suppress the riots. When Adela and her husband with other friends attempt to navigate the chaos at El Paso, the group are confronted by Elijah and his second-in-command Mother. Elijah attempts to convince Dylan to kill Adela and Juan to ensure his status as a "true American." When he refuses, he killed T.T., one of his friends, before Elijah can kill Juan, NFFA soldiers arrived and told them to drop the weapons, which ended up starting a gunfight and the death of Mother by Dylan.
After Mother's death, Elijah grows more obsessed with the group's death. At the border, Elijah and his group fought Juan, Dylan and Adela, also with native chieftain Chiago. After all of his men were killed, Elijah held Adela captive, before being killed by Juan and T.T.'s death is avenged.
Trivia[]
- Elijah was thought to be the last main antagonist of the franchise when it was announced/rumored that 'The Forever Purge' would be the final film of the franchise. However, that was soon changed upon the announcement of upcoming films in the coming future.
