Emmitt Arnett is a supporting antagonist in the TV show Justified. He is a shot caller in the Dixie Mafia posing as a real estate developer. He was portrayed by Steven Flynn.
Biography[]
Season One[]
Arnett first appears in the Season One episode "Hatless", in which he orders Wynn Duffy and Billy Mac to beat up Gary Hawkins, a man who owes the Dixie Mafia money. Eventually, US marshal Raylan Givens accompanies Gary to Arnett's office in order to convince him to leave Gary alone. During the meeting, Gary offers Arnett the deed to his upcoming "supermall", which he claims will be worth more than he owes in a few years. When Arnett accepts, an enraged Duffy pulls out his gun, and causes a shootout during which Billy Mac and Arnett's bodyguard kill each other and Duffy is wounded and tackled by Gary before he can kill Arnett.
Season Two[]
Arnett briefly appears in "For Blood or Money", in which Raylan interrogates him on Dickie Bennett's potential involvement in the Dixie Mafia. Arnett denies any involvement in the Dixie Mafia despite being the leader of the Harlan branch, and tells Raylan to interview a man named Wayne who lost an Oxycontin shipment in Harlan.
Season Three[]
Arnett appears in the Season Three premier "The Gunfighter", in which Robert Quarles, a lieutenant in the Dixie Mafia, who demands repayment of a loan Arnett received from the Detroit branch of the Dixie Mafia. In response, Arnett has his enforcer Fletcher Nix rob and murder watch store owner Delmar Coates so he can pay off the loan, before having sex with his secretary and lover Yvette and telling her his plan, not realising that Quarles seduced her into telling him the plan. As a result, Quarles manipulates events so that the police will intercept the money, meaning he is then able to shoot and kill Arnett and take over the Harlan branch of the Dixie Mafia.
