Emmitt Pergande is a supporting antagonist in the 2021 TV Series Superman and Lois. Emmitt was a petty criminal who was a cell mate of Lex Luthor during his time in Stryker's Island. After serving his time, he moved around with his daughter Candice, eventually ending up in Smallville where he crossed paths with the Kent Family.

He was played by Adrian Glynn McMorran, who previously played Murmur on Arrow and Jeremy Creek in Smallville.

History

Emmitt raised his daughter Candice to the best of his ability, despite being both a convicted felon and he developed heart problems. Having grown to like living in Smallville and developing feelings for Jonathan Kent, Candice took on both a diner waitress job and reluctantly sold X-Kryptonite on the side. Jonathan would take the fall for her, knowing how much she loved living in Smallville.

Jonathan would come in contact with Emmitt when Emmitt punched Jonathan and stole his truck. Lois would attempt to defuse this situation, only for Emmitt to pull a gun on Lois. Infuriated, Clark would go to Emmitt while he was eating, wanting to talk. Infuriated, Emmitt would attack Clark, only to be overpowered almost instantly.

Calmly, Clark threatened Emmitt that not only would Clark return if he tried this again, but Lois would also write an expose on Emmitt. Reluctantly, Emmitt left town, forced to live in his truck while Candice stayed at the Kent farmhouse.

Sometime later, Emmitt was contacted by Lex Luthor who wanted to ruin both Superman and the Kent family. Luthor would reveal to his former cellmate that Clark was Superman. Deciding to get revenge, Emmitt confronted Clark in town and revealed what Luthor had told him, while having his gun out. He then fired directly at Clark, revealing everything. However, Emmitt's victory would be hollow as he was arrested almost instantly.
