Palpatine's appearance in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Although Palpatine was quick to use this turn of events in the Republic's favor, Windu urged the Chancellor to proceed with caution.
Despite Master Windu's reservations about allying the Republic with the Hutt, Palpatine knew they need the the Hutt's space lanes to move their troops.
Windu shared his belief with Palpatine that there was more to the Huttlet's abduction than what was apparent.
Master Windu also informed the Chancellor that, because of the Separatist general Grievous, Republic forces were stretched too thin to send a large number of Jedi on a rescue mission.
Due to Palpatine's insistence that the Republic clone army needed to gain safe passage through the Outer Rim Hyperspace routes in Hutt Space, Windu agreed to assign the mission to Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.
Sidious contacted both Ventress and Dooku and assured them that the Jedi would be at war with the Hutts as well the Confederacy.
Sidious in a hologram appears on Teth.
Infuriated by the lack of progress, Jabba contacted Chancellor Palpatine and, through his translator droid, TC-70, demanded to know why the Jedi were not searching for his son.
The Chancellor assured the crime lord that the Jedi were on their way.
Of which Jabba said the treaty with him depended on.

Padmé offered to convince the Hutt of Anakin's innocence.
Palpatine told Senator Amidala that Jabba refused to speak with him.
Amidala informed the Chancellor that Jabba had an uncle who lived on Coruscant and decided she will speak with him.
Worried about Anakin, Padmé decides to contact Jabba's uncle, Ziro the Hutt, who lives in a shady part of Coruscant.
Padmé then offered to negotiate with Jabba through his uncle, Ziro, who lived on Coruscant, though Palpatine advised against it.
As Senator Amidala leaves his office, Palpatine warns her of the Hutts being vile gangsters.
Sidious spoke with his apprentice about this setback assuring Dooku that the war was turning in their favor.
Sidious smiles during a hologram communication.
Following the report of the loss, Jedi Masters Yoda, Mace Windu, and Plo Koon met with Supreme Chancellor Palpatine in his office to discuss methods to protect more Republic fleets from being destroyed.

Palpatine learned that Senator Amidala moved through enemy territory into the Outer Rim, causing him to contact her aboard her H-type Nubian yacht.
Palpatine claimed to understand, although he argued that she should have a clone trooper escort.
After Representative Binks tried to talk to Palpatine, he caused C-3PO's chair to move, knocking the Gungan down and causing the ship to veer off course.
Palpatine discreetly urged Senator Amidala to keep Binks out of the negotiations, which she agreed to.
After Gunray was captured, Chancellor Palpatine conferred with Senator Amidala via holographic transmission.

Count Dooku receives a holographic message from Darth Sidious.
Sidious informs Dooku that Gunray poses a significant danger to them and their plans if he is interrogated.
Sidious was initially less than enthusiastic about his apprentice's strategy to send Asajj Ventress.
Despite his lack of confidence in Ventress's abilities, the Dark Lord ultimately authorized the Count to proceed with the plan.
On Coruscant, Chancellor Palpatine and his staff review a holographic message from Hondo Ohnaka.
The pirate Hondo demands a million credits worth of spice from the Republic in exchange for Dooku.
Palpatine was reluctant to believe Dooku had been captured by a group of simple pirates, despite being shown holographic proof.
Palpatine doubted the pirate's claims, however the pirate showed the Count's lightsaber, which Master Yoda did recognize as Dooku's blade.
Palpatine rose from his desk remaining skeptical that Hondo having Dooku's lightsaber means nothing.
Padmé Amidala tells the Chancellor that this may be their only chance to get Dooku.
Senator Amidala offered the idea that two Jedi could be sent to verify if Dooku truly was in their custody.
Padmé Amidala stated that once assured Dooku was indeed captured, the Republic would pay the demanded ransom for the Separatist leader.
After confirming the pirates had indeed captured Dooku, the Jedi informed Mace Windu and Palpatine.
Palpatine told them that he was sending Senator Kharrus and Representative Binks with the ransom in exchange for the Sith Lord.
Senator Kharrus contacted Palpatine, who was in his office on Coruscant with Senator Amidala and several Jedi Council members, and informed him that they were due to land shortly.

A hologram of Darth Sidious interrupts Cad Bane's thinking.
Darth Sidious contacts Cad Bane for a job.
Sidious tasks Bane to steal a holocron from the Temple.
Bane was at first reluctant, but Sidious suggested that Bane's legendary reputation may have been exaggerated.
Bane demanded an elite starfighter and three times his usual price and Sidious not concerned with the hunter's heightened request.
Sidious also provided Bane with detailed schematics of the Temple's security infrastructure.
After fleeing from the doomed Separatist ship, Bane retreated to his hideout, Black Stall Station and contacted Sidious.
Contacting Sidious through a holographic transmission, Bane reported his success and inquired about the details of his next assignment.
Darth Sidious revealed that the purpose of stealing the crystal and holocron was that he needed test subjects for an experiment.
Sidious instructed Bane to use the list and acquire four children who were strong in the Force.
Bane tells the Sith Lord that kidnapping innocent children seemed like a small-time crime for the likes of him.
Sidious told Bane to bring the children to the Dark Lord's secret facility on Mustafar.
Lord Sidious tells Bane that the children among the Jedi are not innocent.
Bane considers it rash to kidnap innocents, but doesn't care, as long as he gets paid by Sidious.
Windu points out that they must report to the Chancellor about this with Anakin and Ahsoka visit him on Coruscant.
At the Chancellor Office on Coruscant, Anakin is greeted warmly by Palpatine.

Palpatine seemed impressed that a rogue operative could be so effective against the Jedi.
Anakin suspected that a far more powerful individual than either Bane or Count Dooku was orchestrating the abduction and Palpatine asks Skywalker who he thinks is behind it, and he answers that he doesn't know.

While Separatist forces tried to take control of Malastare, Palpatine monitored the military action remotely via hologram.
Chancellor Palpatine played an integral part during the events of the Battle of Malastare, closely advising Jedi Master Mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker, and Doctor Sionver Boll in aiding the Dugs against a Separatist attack.
In hopes of obtaining fuel from Malastare, Mace Windu, Palpatine (via hologram) and Anakin Skywalker discuss the potential effects of the Electro-Proton Bomb.
The Battle on Malastare was also a convenient test site for the Chancellor's new weapon, an electro-proton bomb, developed by Dr. Boll.
Mace Windu remained wary of the "improbable" and wished to find another way, but Palpatine disagreed.
Palpatine insisted the bomb is the last chance to secure a Republic victory.
ARC-170 starfighters escorted by V-19 Torrent starfighters took off from the Doge's palace under orders from Skywalker while the ARCs began strafing the Confederate army, the bomber carrying the superweapon—piloted by clone pilot "Goji" — maneuvered over the target area and dropped its load.
Due to the effects of the bomb, Palpatine's holographic communication with Malastare was cut off.
Mace re-establishes communications with Chancellor Palpatine and reports on his progress.
The Chancellor was most concerned that the Dugs sign a treaty ensuring access to their fuel.
Doge Urus tells the Chancellor the treaty must be passed by the council.
Palpatine states importance that the Republic gains access to the Malastarian fuel.
Chancellor Palpatine's next communication with the group was an urgent message from Windu, Skywalker and Boll, stating that the blast had woken the Zillo Beast, an ancient creature from Dug history that was long thought to be extinct.
Palpatine and Doctor Sionver Boll overlook a hologram of the Zillo Beast.
Palpatine was amazed by the creature's size but dismayed by Master Windu's reluctance to assist the Dugs.
A talk with Palpatine shows that he supports the extermination of the Zillo Beast.
Chancellor Palpatine wanted the treaty signed so at first he did not care for the beast.
Palpatine showed that he supports the extermination of the Zillo Beast.
The ever-analytical Doctor Boll suggested that the Zillo Beast may be an invaluable resource.
Chancellor Palpatine delightedly supported the idea to preserve it for replicating its seemingly impenetrable armor for military use.
With Dr. Boll's assurance that the study of the Zillo Beast could greatly aid the Republic war effort, the Chancellor sanctioned Skywalker's plan to incapacitate the creature.
The Dugs would assume it is dead and sign the treaty, while the Republic could move it to a secure location and Palpatine approved it.
The Chancellor watches as Urus signs the treaty.
Chancellor Palpatine welcomes the Dugs and Malastare to the Republic.
Mace Windu and Anakin tell Palpatine that the Zillo Beast was loaded on a transport.
Palpatine and his scientific advisors altered the original plans.
Palpatine's advisors recommend studying the creature under the most controlled conditions.
With that recommendation, Palpatine instructed the Jedi to return to Coruscant with the Zillo Beast for study.
The Supreme Chancellor oversaw the Zillo Beast's transportation to Coruscant.
Arriving by gunship are Mace Windu and Anakin Skywalker who convene with Chancellor Palpatine.
Palpatine personally greeted the Dr. Boll and the Jedi as they returned with the sedated creature in tow.
Palpatine is awed by the size of the Zillo Beast.
Mace Windu is skeptical and fears that the creature is too dangerous to have been brought to the planet.
Although Windu once again voiced his concern and objection, but Palpatine insists it is a chance to uncover a technological edge.
Mace turns over stewardship of the creature to Doctor Boll and Palpatine.
When the beast was brought to Coruscant to be studied, Doctor Boll led the expedition.
Mace leaves the Zillo Beast in the care of Doctor Boll and Palpatine.
As the Jedi depart, the Chancellor and Mas Amedda approach Doctor Boll.
The Zillo Beast's passing shadows Palpatine and Amedda.
Palpatine smiles deviously as the Zillo Beast passes him.
Chancellor Palpatine visits the doctor, checking on her progress.
Dr. Boll reported to Chancellor Palpatine that the preliminary testing was slow and lacked results due to the severe pain that the Zillo Beast would endure under experimentation.
Palpatine suggests that killing it would be the best option but Boll protests, stating that the Zillo Beast isn't only the last of its kind.
Vice Chair Amedda questions the Chancellor's decision.
Unconcerned with its well-being, the Chancellor merely ordered the doctor to kill the creature to continue her study without further complications.
Palpatine dismisses the possibility, stating that the giant beast is simply an animal.
The Zillo Beast glared hatefully at the Chancellor, especially when he referred to it as a "simple animal."
Palpatine orders the use of the Malastarian fuel to be used as a poison to quickly kill the beast and threatens to replace Boll if she doesn't have the stomach to do it.
Palpatine inadvertently exposed his Sith nature to the Zillo Beast.
Palpatine and his party exit the Republic Science and Technical Center.
The Chancellor meets Anakin and Padmé in his office.
Palpatine indulged the senator's concerns by debating the merit and pitfalls of destroying the beast.
Palpatine and Mas Amedda try justifying that killing the beast is for the greater good, to which Padmé challenges that killing the last of a species is wrong.
Palpatine pointed out that it was also immoral to not take every advantage that was needed to bring an end to a war that saw a rising casualty rate amongst the citizens that the Chancellor was charged to protect.
Palpatine justified his actions to Senator Amidala, who believed that it was immoral to kill the creature.
Chancellor Palpatine argued that the life of one animal was a small price to pay if the rewards saved countless lives in the long run.
The Chancellor was also clearly pleased to see that Skywalker shared his opinion on the matter, much to the surprise and annoyance of Amidala.
Mas Amedda requests a word with Chancellor Palpatine.
Palpatine contacts Doctor Boll, who reports success in converting the Malastarian fuel into a poison gas.
The Chancellor orders the Zillo Beast gassed.
Boll reported she was able to turn the toxin into a poison gas.
Palpatine gave the order to execute the beast.
Doctor Boll contacts Palpatine informing him of the Zillo Beast's escape.
The Zillo Beast escapes the confines of the research facility and embarking on a second rampage, with Palpatine as the primary target.
Palpatine contacted Boll, and ordered her to create more toxin to kill the creature.
Palpatine frantically tells Doctor Boll to make more poison.
The Zillo Beast destroyed every image of Palpatine it could find and marched steadily onward toward the Senate Building.
The Zillo Beast rampaged around Coruscant, killing hundreds, if not thousands, of innocents before charging towards the Senate, intent on revenge upon Palpatine for ordering its execution.
It soon found its target at the Republic Executive Building.
Palpatine, Anakin and Senator Amidala see the creature coming towards them.
During the attempted execution, the beast escaped and rampaged Coruscant City, unhindered by all efforts to stop it.
After Amidala spotted the beast making its way towards the Senate buildings, Palpatine ordered the evacuation of his office.
The creature charges the Senate Building with its enormous head fills the panoramic window of the Chancellor's office.
Unable to rely on his own powers without revealing his true self to Skywalker and Amidala, Palpatine decided on fleeing from the beast.
Palpatine then led Skywalker and Amidala, as well as their droids R2-D2 and C-3PO, to his personal executive shuttle.
The Chancellor, Padmé, Anakin and R2-D2 evacuate to the former's escape shuttle.
Out of desperation, the Chancellor contacted Boll and ordered her to create more of the gas.
Palpatine tells the doctor to hand the poison to his guards immediately.
Senator Amidala questioned if the creature has to be destroyed and the Chancellor responds their advanced technology could not contain the beast.
Just as they took off, however, the shuttle was caught in the beast's grip.
Palpatine's ship lifts off the executive building, but it's plucked from the sky by the Zillo Beast, who holds the vessel as if it were a mere toy.
Inside the shuttle, the bulkheads creak and groan under the strain of the Zillo Beast's clutches.
Anakin comes up with a dangerous plan to free them by slicing off the front part of the shuttle.
Anakin springs into action, slicing through the cabin with his lightsaber.
Skywalker shears the ship into two sections, separating the crew cabin from the creature's grasp.
Palpatine and his pilot were still trapped by the beast until Yoda and Aayla Secura provided a sufficient distraction to allow the Chancellor to escape from his damaged shuttle.
When the front half splits off, Anakin, Padmé, R2 and C-3PO fall out, while the Chancellor and a Senate Commando fall a level below, escaping a certain death thanks to Kenobi and Windu, who Force grip the front half of the Chancellor's ships, interrupting its course.
The Senate Commando escorts Palpatine out of the separated shuttle.
The Zillo Beast, loose on Coruscant, spots Palpatine and a Senate Commando below his escape shuttle's pilot.
The Zillo beast then attempts to crush Palpatine with its hand, only for R2 to quickly fly in.
After selflessly allowing Palpatine to escape on top of R2-D2 before him, the commando was killed when the Zillo Beast crushed him when it stomped on the shuttle.
The Chancellor used R2-D2 to flee from the Zillo Beast just before the commando was killed in its path.
The creature pursued its target, Palpatine ordered the gunships to use the gas bombs.
As the gunships continue to bomb the beast, the gas cloud begins to spread, though Anakin, Yoda and Aayla use the Force to protect themselves, Palpatine and Amidala from the gas.
As the gas cloud began to spread, Skywalker, Yoda and Secura used the Force to protect themselves, Palpatine and Amidala from the harmful effects of the Malastarian gas.
As the Jedi looked on in regret, the Zillo Beast, confused, in pain and dying, succumbed to the toxin and fell from the Executive Building to its death below.
The next day, the Zillo Beast's lifeless body was in the process of being carted away with Skywalker, who was initially in favor of terminating the beast, came to lament its tragic death because of the Republic's mistakes.
The Chancellor, escorted by a group of Senate Guards, assured the Jedi and Senator Amidala that the beast's death would not be in vain.
Palpatine presented Dr. Boll with a new order to clone the Zillo Beast for further scientific purposes.
Palpatine smiles evilly as he has future plans for the cloned beast.

In the Senate, Chancellor Palpatine deems Death Watch a significant military threat.
The Chancellor's platform was based on the increasing acts of violence conducted by the Death Watch, as well as Mandalore's unreliability at resolving a crisis on their own.
While the Senate was in session, Duchess Kryze implored the senators to allow the Mandalorians to maintain their policy of neutrality in the Clone Wars and to handle the Death Watch situation without Republic assistance.
Palpatine spearheaded the movement in the Senate that called for military intervention against the radical organization.
To back his argument for occupation, the Chancellor presents a hologram message from Deputy Minister Jerec who states a civil war is amidst the Mandalorians.
Palpatine then surprised her with a holographic message of Deputy Prime Minister Jerec who stated that the Death Watch was too great of a problem than the Mandalorian government had revealed to its people.
The hologram effectively discredited Kryze's entire argument, thus securing an early victory for Palpatine's position of Republic occupation on Mandalore.
The holo-recording of Jerec states the Death Watch threat is greater than the Duchess states and Mandalore will require Republic aid.
Knowing something is not right with the recording she just witnessed, Satine requests to see Jerec at once, but Palpatine states he was killed in a Death Watch bombing on Kalevala.
Palpatine states this as an even greater reason to defend Mandalore, yet Satine refutes the idea of a Republic occupation, fearing it will bring the war to them.
The Chancellor defended his position by pointing out Kryze's inability to curb the escalating threat of Death Watch.
Announcing the vote on military action will take place next session, Chancellor Palpatine dismisses the Senate.
At night, in the Chancellor's office, Satine attempts to convince Palpatine that the malfunction was not an accident but her speeder had been tampered with.
Despite asserting that someone was trying to assassinate her, the Chancellor refused to conduct an investigation due to the lack of evidence to support her claim.
Mas Amedda then commented that such an attack is more proof that the Republic should intervene.
Palpatine dismisses it as simply an accident, despite the fact that it occurred the same day she openly defended her planet.
Darth Sidious contacts his apprentice to report his status.
Aboard a Munificent-class star frigate Dooku informs his master Sidious that Death Watch is ready to fight off the Republic forces.
Sidious believes the Mandalorians will be so resentful of the Republic invasion that Death Watch will emerge as heroes.
Darth Sidious expresses concern about possible interference by the Duchess Satine, but is assured by Dooku that a Death Watch assassin will take care of her causing Sidious to grin.
Chancellor Palpatine scans the Great Convocation Chamber for any objections to Mandalore's occupation.
In the Senate chambers, the session is interrupted by Senator Amidala.
Senator Amidala speaks up and Palpatine says the Chair recognizes her.
Padmé then displayed the full recording of Deputy Minister Jerec, while Palpatine angrily glared at Mas Amedda.
Palpatine quickly grimaces as he watches the recording, then returns his expression to a smile.
The recording explains that Mandalorian government has been preparing for any possible confrontation with Death Watch and the reason why they cannot ask for Republic support with the situation being so fragile.
Palpatine and Mas Amedda stand as the footage proved that Jerec had in fact supported Mandalore's neutrality and Duchess Kryze.
With the true light shed, the occupation of Mandalore was abolished along with the Death Watches plans.
Kenobi, the Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, and Amidala later discussed the outcome of the vote with Amedda and Palpatine in the Supreme Chancellor's office.

Senator Amidala confesses she's been in direct contact with the Separatists - an action which clearly unsettles Palpatine.
Nonetheless, Palpatine agrees to put a vote to the floor.
Chancellor Palpatine and Mas Amedda open the floor to a vote of peace talks.
Senator Amidala lauded the Confederate olive branch and asserted that, given the very realistic prospect of peace, a move to deregulate the banks was unnecessary and Farr asked that the congressional delegates take an immediate vote to reject the deregulation of the InterGalactic Banking Clan.
Gume Saam then told the Senate that the bomb attack was confirmed to have been carried out by the Separatists and demanded that they pay.
As the Senators waited in the red hue of the capital dome's emergency lights, they received word that the attack, which had taken the lives of several civilian engineers and wounded pedestrians throughout the district, was indeed an act of Separatist terrorism.
