Palpatine commended Skywalker on his accomplishment, before quickly changing his tone and urging Anakin to kill him.

The Jedi and Chancellor are caught in a containing ray shield and surrounded by battle droids.

During the performance the Chancellor began to stir Skywalker's distrust in the Jedi Council.

As he writhed in agony on the floor, Luke pleaded with Vader to help him, but the conflicted Sith Lord did nothing.
The Emperor's villainous breakdown as he loses what is left of his sanity and not realizing that this also caused Anakin Skywalker to redeem and turn on him.

Emperor Palpatine furiously attempts to destroy Rey with his lightning.
Rey grew closer with the lightning and managed to force it back on Palpatine.
Drawing strength from the Jedi of old, Rey withstanding Emperor Palpatine's powers long enough to vanquish him.
Rey deflected the lightning back towards him using the two lightsabers, disintegrating his body and killing Palpatine once and for all.
Emperor Palpatine was destroyed by his own power, utterly vaporizing his entire body.
Rey was able to deflect it back to Emperor Palpatine using both Luke and Leia's lightsabers, vaporizing the Sith Lord and destroying him.
Unable to take the strain of the immense energy reflected back at him, Emperor Palpatine screamed in agony and horror as he was disintegrated under his own energy.
Emperor Palpatine exploding releasing a great force wave that decimated the entire arena, along with killing all of the Sith Eternal cultists and himself.
