Energy Thief Uugo (エネルギー窃盗犯・ウーゴ Enerugī Settōhan Ūgo) is a Marshalian, a caterpillar and millipede-themed alien criminal who was sentenced to three years of freeze-compression for his reckless energy theft and consumption. He is the main antagonist in episode 23 ("Beat Up") of the 2000 TV series Mirai Sentai Timeranger.
He was voiced by Takashi Nagasoko, who later voiced Incinerator Banki, Tomarezu of the Tsuchinoko, Shieldon, Shovelloid, Advanced Yokai Oumukade, Gabatt Kababacci and Beef Rib World.
History[]
Uugo is a Marshalian. When Marshalians receive a strong shock, the energy stored in their bodies goes out of control, causing a flashing phenomenon. Once out of control, they cannot survive without continuing to eat energy, and the more they eat, the worse the flashing becomes, eventually causing a huge explosion.
He had the ability to suck and absorb energy, but what makes him dangerous is his kind's ability to unleash a terrible energy backlash upon being wounded.
He was released by Gien, under the assumption that the Londerz could take advantage of the blackouts he causes with his ability. TimeRed attempted to stop him on his own, only to be hurt by the ensuing shockwave. Uugo eventually made his way to the power plant, where Gien was stationed and planned to make Uugo discharge every wattage of power to destroy the entire city.
The Timerangers interfered, with TimeRed using the Assault Vector to defeat him while removing his energy. Gien forcefully enlarged Uugo, who was soon brought in by Shadow Beta.
Personality[]
Originally Uugo was a dim-witted glutton who had little intreast in fighting. He's much rather run and look for another meal.
After the energy within his body begins go out of control, Uugo becomes a mindless drone. His already substantial hunger runs wild, causing him to seek greater and greater sources of energy. He also becomes much more violent, attacking anything in his way without reservation.
