Megani the Jackal, under the disguise of her alter-ego Enigma the Phantom Thief, is a supporting antagonist in the Sonic the Hedgehog IDW comic book series. While she looked like a nervous and incompetent jackal, Megani is a professional master thief that disguises herself to keep anyone from knowing her identity. After her last heist, she became acquainted and obsessed with the Chaotix after they thwarted her heist when her former boss Professor Valdus suspected her and asked the Chaotix to catch her in the act until she asked them to exposed her boss for his crimes. She also becomes Vector's rival.
Personality[]
In her civilian appearance, Megani is shy and bookish, while as Enigma she's cold and calculative.
Biography[]
Megani appears as part of the Chaotix 30th Anniversary Comic. Here, as told through the various flashbacks of Vector, Espio, and Charmy, Megani was the assistant to Professor Valdus, the curator and retired archeologist of the Mythsonian museum. Megani had planted evidence to lure the Chaotix into busting Valdus, who was trying to steal the artifacts he was apparently donating to the museum. This was so Enigma could steal artifacts, particularly the Crystal Lotus, herself. However, because of the agency's work, she had to pull back.
In modern day, after Valdus' exposure, Megani then tries to steal the Lotus again, this time in her civilian disguise. Before she can, Megani is stopped by Vector, who asked her to always call the Chaotix again in case anything else happens. Before departing Vector tosses Megani her own calling card. With a smirk, Megani accepts defeat and left without the Lotus but was looking forward to the challenge.
In the present, Megani arrived as Enigma and watches the Chaotix along with Sonic and Amy after they explained to them their anniversary of the Case they solved. After listening in, Megani left the seen, only sensed by Vector, who figured who it was listening in and she promised to face the Chaotix soon before leaving the museum undetected.
