Ensha of the Royal Remains is a minor antagonist in the 2022 RPG-Action video game Elden Ring. He is a Tarnished who resides in the Roundtable Hold and is also the adherent of Gideon Ofnir.
Appearance[]
Ensha wears rusty and weathered armor that was forged together with golden-graced human bones.
Personality[]
Ensha is an enigmatic individual who is completely mute, as he doesn't speak when interacted, but he is attentive in behavior. He also appears to be anti-social as he likes to distance himself from other Tarnished with the only exception being his master Gideon Ofnir, who was the only one he remain near/close to.
As noted by Ofnir, Ensha is implied to be overconfident and gets ahead of himself. This proved to be the flaw in his behavior as he engages the Tarnished of no renown in battle with no reason or provocation, which costed him his own life in the end.
Biography[]
Ensha is seemingly named after a soulless king of the same name, whose bones were made of gold, was a revered hero of Those that Live in Death and was Lord of the Lands Between in ancient times. At an unknown point, Ensha acquired the king's royal remains, which had been forged into armor, as they were blessed with restorative power, becoming known as 'Ensha of the Royal Remains. He eventually became a servant to Tarnished leader Sir Gideon Ofnir.
Recent History[]
Ensha can be found leaning against a wall beside the entrance to Gideon Ofnir's study. When interacted, he will give them the "What do you want?" gesture. This in turn would also begin his questline. After the Tarnished obtains the right/left half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, Ensha will become an invader once they return to the Roundtable Hold. This will force the Tarnished to kill him. When they confronted Gideon Ofnir over Ensha's actions, he will give them an apology, saying that Ensha got ahead of himself. In addition, he will also give them advice on where to find the other half of the medallion.
Alternatively, if the Tarnished didn't obtain each half of the medallion prior to battling and killing the Fire Giant, Ensha will mysteriously vanish from the Roundtable Hold and doesn't become an invader.
