Imperfection is what makes scientific experimentation possible! Imperfection is beautiful... at least to me.
~ Entrapta to Hordak.

Entrapta is a major character in the DreamWorks animated series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.

She holds the title of princess in the realm of Dryl and is one of the Non-Elemental Princesses. Throughout Seasons One to Three, she actively participates as a member of the Rebellion, celebrated for her technological expertise and optimistic remarks.

However, impulsive tendencies led her to align with the Horde, but she eventually rejoined the Rebellion in Season Five, fully comprehending the repercussions of her choices.

She is voiced by Christine Woods.

Appearance[]

Entrapta possesses a distinct and captivating appearance. Her distinctive features include her unique hair, which is comprised of a mix of purple and pink shades, forming voluminous locks that are styled in a wild, asymmetrical manner. Her eyes are large and striking, adorned with purple eyeshadow that adds an air of mystique to her gaze.

Entrapta's attire further highlights her individuality. She wears a bodysuit that combines shades of purple and pink, perfectly complementing her hair. The bodysuit is adorned with intricate geometric patterns and technological designs, showcasing her affinity for mechanics and gadgets. Around her waist, she sports a belt with pouches and compartments that hold various tools and devices, a testament to her inventive prowess.

Adding to her technological aesthetic, Entrapta wears unique gauntlets on her arms, which appear to be integrated with her technological skills. These gauntlets serve both functional and decorative purposes, contributing to her overall appearance. Additionally, her footwear features high boots that match her bodysuit in color and design.

Personality[]

Entrapta exhibits a hyperactive, cheerful, and optimistic nature, marked by her kindness and avoidance of causing harm to others, including robots. Her positive outlook persists even in dangerous situations, as long as she can engage in experiments and research. Despite setbacks, she sees failures as opportunities for learning. Entrapta perceives herself as a failure, but with a positive connotation. Despite her amiability, she battles loneliness and vulnerability, which makes her susceptible to manipulation, as demonstrated by her alliance with the Horde due to Catra's persuasion.

Obliviousness and single-mindedness are her defining traits, often leading her into risky situations. Her focus on her pursuits led her to disregard promises and overlook potential dangers. Before joining the Horde, she resided in a robot-friendly building, accompanied by a staff that prepared her specialized meals.

In the series' finale, Entrapta acknowledges the consequences of her actions, feeling genuine remorse for her involvement with the Horde. She recognizes her social shortcomings and believes that using her technological expertise can foster camaraderie. Despite everything, she cares deeply for her fellow princesses.

Biography[]

Past[]

Entrapta's presence alongside her robotic parents suggests her likely role in constructing them, evidenced by her proud display of a wrench. The robots themselves feature First Ones' technology at their core. Her companions in the castle were primarily the kitchen staff, while details about her earlier life remain undisclosed.

Season 1[]

Entrapta makes her debut in the episode titled "System Failure," introduced as the foremost authority on technology. She uncovers a disk with the ability to turn robots and even She-Ra into malevolent entities. After being rescued, she commits to designing weaponry for the Resistance. In a subsequent episode, "Princess Prom," Entrapta participates in Princess Frosta's event, observing attendees and indulging in her affection for miniature cuisine.

Further along, she aids the Princess Alliance in a mission to liberate Glimmer and Bow. During this venture, Entrapta's fascination with technology momentarily distracts her, leading her to become trapped behind a closing door emitting flames, creating the illusion of her demise. However, it's later revealed that she survived and is found by Catra.

Subsequently, Entrapta joins forces with the Horde, influenced by Catra's persuasion that she was deliberately abandoned by other princesses. She collaborates with Catra to enhance the power of the Black Garnet through hacking and discusses the profound influence of First Ones' technology at the core of Etheria, potentially alluding to the Heart of Etheria Project. As the Battle of Bright Moon ensues following the events in the Whispering Woods, Hordak acknowledges Entrapta's contributions and endorses her initiatives.

Season 2[]

Entrapta quirkly forges a friendship with Catra and forms an even stronger bond with Hordak. Her close rapport with Hordak makes her a favored presence, relishing the chance to apply her technical expertise, while Hordak appreciates the technological innovations she generates. Entrapta designs numerous specialized robots infused with First Ones' technology, and she accompanies Catra on a journey to the northern territories to acquire additional technology for her experiments.

Upon learning about Hordak's portal experiment, Entrapta remarks on its potential, only for Hordak to suggest that she's thinking too narrowly. This is when he unveils the existence of other realms beyond Etheria.

Season 3[]

In the season's opening episode, Entrapta deciphers a transmission similar to the one received by Bow, only managing to translate the term "portal." She informs Hordak about the transmission's location, prompting him to send Catra to acquire the First Ones technology.

While collaborating on a portal project, Entrapta uncovers the inadequacy of Hordak's armor, which causes him distress. She engineers an advanced exoskeletal suit that provides enhanced support for his unique physique and proves more effective. This process fosters a genuine friendship between them, extending beyond mere scientific partnership, hinting at the potential for a deeper connection. As they work, Entrapta's reluctance to see Hordak depart leads her to consider delaying the portal's completion to spend more time together. However, when Catra arrives with the essential key to finalize the portal, they're compelled to continue their efforts.

Entrapta remains involved in portal development until Adora urges her to investigate anomalies. Entrapta identifies severe space-time risks associated with opening the portal, realizing the peril it poses. Despite her warnings, Catra insists on proceeding, but Entrapta stands firm against the perilous endeavor. She intends to inform Hordak about the dangers, but Catra unexpectedly incapacitates her from behind. Entrapta regains consciousness only to be falsely accused by Catra, leading to her unjust exile to Beast Island. This treachery deeply wounds Hordak, deceived by Catra's fabricated betrayal.

Season 4[]

At the outset of the season, Entrapta resides on Beast Island, having been exiled there as punishment. Surprisingly, she finds herself embracing her circumstances due to the abundance of novel technology and knowledge she discovers. When Bow inquires about her well-being and Hordak, whom she associates with sadness, Entrapta conceals her true emotions beneath a façade. She guides her rescuers to the First Ones temple on the island, unveiling its significance in safeguarding the First Ones' secrets, notably the Heart of Etheria Project. As the group attempts to leave the island, Entrapta protests, revealing her reluctance to depart as she believes she doesn't belong anywhere else. She voices her sense of abandonment by those she's come to consider friends, like Adora, Catra, and even Hordak. However, the opportunity to study a First Ones ship prompts her return, and she openly expresses her happiness about their friendship with Bow.

Upon their return to Bright Moon, Adora directs Bow, Swift Wind, and Entrapta to infiltrate The Fright Zone. Their mission is halted when Swift Wind experiences adverse effects from the Heart, leading to his collapse. Etheria's return to its original dimension brings a moment of wonder as Entrapta and Bow gaze upon the stars for the first time. It's worth noting that Entrapta isn't seen alongside Bow during his attempt to rescue Queen Glimmer.

Season 5[]

In Season Five, Entrapta experiences significant personal growth and confronts her own priorities. Accused of prioritizing technology over friendships, she acknowledges her shortcomings in social interactions but believed that showcasing her technological prowess would lead to acceptance. After a successful mission alongside other princesses, she gains forgiveness and a sense of belonging.

Entrapta joins Adora and Bow on a space rescue mission, where her technological skills are tested by encounters with clones, ship malfunctions, and related challenges. During the mission, she mistakenly identifies a clone as Hordak, leading to an incident that separates him from the Galactic Horde's hive mind. She develops an unlikely rapport with the clone, teaching him about ordinary human experiences.

In her quest to disable the chips controlling individuals, Entrapta reflects on her desire to assist her friends, reminiscent of her earlier struggle. She encounters Hordak, who has been reconditioned by Horde Prime but still remembers her. Their reunion is cut short by Swift Wind's intervention, and Entrapta leaves Hordak with a heartfelt reminder of his worth.

During an attempt to infiltrate the system, Horde Prime captures Entrapta. Bow manages to complete her work and disable the chips, but Horde Prime orders Hordak to eliminate Entrapta. Instead, Hordak rebels against Horde Prime, acknowledging his true identity and the friendship he shares with Entrapta. Horde Prime possesses Hordak's body and takes Entrapta hostage. In the season's conclusion, Entrapta is joyfully reunited with Hordak, hinting at a potential romantic relationship between them.
