The Envies are one of the Seven Deadly Sins themed mini-bosses and minor antagonists in The Binding of Isaac video game series.
Biography[]
As their name suggests, the Envy group of mini-bosses serve to represent the cardinal sin of envy, one of the Seven Deadly Sins described within Christianity.
Envy[]
Envies appear in "Mini-Boss Rooms", which are rooms designated for certain mini-bosses. Once Envy spawns in the room, they will begin float around the room. When they take damage, they split up into 2 medium heads upon death which split into 2 small heads each when destroyed. These small heads split one last time into 2 even smaller heads when destroyed.
Super Envy[]
Super Envies are larger and blue version of regular Envy, and share much of the abilities that regular Envy do. They split into three medium heads upon death which split into 2-3 small heads each when destroyed. These small heads split one last time into 2 even smaller heads when destroyed.
Eternal Envy[]
Eternal Envies are white-colored versions of regular Envies, which only appear in the Hard Mode of the original installment of the game. They act similarly to their normal variants, but constantly shoot blood shots in either clockwise or counter-clockwise direction and will drop an Eternal Heart upon their first spilt.
Eternal Super Envy[]
Eternal Super Envies are white-colored versions of Super Envies, which only appear in the Hard Mode of the original installment of the game. They completely act similarly to their normal variants.
Trivia[]
- Their expressions are a reference to "rage comic" memes, with the biggest and smallest heads showing a troll face and poker face, respectively.
