Eret, also known as Son of Eret, is a recurring character in the How to Train Your Dragon animated franchise, serving as a former antagonist in How to Train Your Dragon 2, and a supporting protagonist in How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.

He was voiced by Kit Harington, who also played Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, and Salen Kotch in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Biography

Background

Eret is a 25-year-old dragon hunter who works with Drago Bludvist. He is an experienced dragon trapper who captures dragons, them gives them to Drago. Afraid of incurring Drago's wrath, Eret still holds a scar from when he failed to meet Drago's demands.

How To Train Your Dragon 2

He first appears trapping Astrid's dragon Stormfly. Eret explains the situation and how Drago intends to conquer everything using his dragon army. Even after they escape, Eret swears he'll capture them. Ruffnut is notably attracted to him.

After failing to inform Drago of the dragon riders at Berk, Drago attempts to execute Eret. Stormfly saves his life, showing him the compassion of dragons. Realizing that Drago is a power-hungry monster only out for his own, and Stormfly's willingness to save his life, Eret is spurred to reform and sticks to the side of Hiccup for the rest of the movie.
