~ Eric the Echidna to Sonic. |
Eric the Echidna is a minor antagonist in Sonic the Hedgehog novel series by Virgin Books, appearing in the book Sonic The Hedgehog In The Fourth Dimension. He is an artificial creature created by Dr. Robotnik after he altered time with a stolen time machine.
Appearance[]
Eric is described as somewhat similar in appearance to Sonic. However, his spikes are of a darker shade of blue, he sports a prolonged and pointed nose, and his feet have a copyright symbol on them, signifying that he is Robotnik's creation.
Biography[]
In the alternate timeline created by Robotnik with the help of a stolen Mark-0 Gauss-Coyne prototype time machine, Eric the Echidna was created by Robotnik Industries at some point. On Robotnik's orders, he met up with Sonic, claiming to be Brown Hill Zone's hero. Sonic asked him to let him check his right foot, to which Eric responded with "No problemski - dude", raising said foot and knocking the hedgehog into the portal to the Fourth Dimension, after which he related to his master that Sonic was gone.
After Sonic and Tails altered history by preventing Robotnik from stealing the time machine, the timeline where Eric was created was undone, and he was likely erased from existence.
Trivia[]
- Eric's appearance predates all other Echidnas in Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. As a side factor, he looks slightly different from how the echidnas, most notably Knuckles, are designed in the series.
