Erica is the main antagonist of the animated film Fixies VS Crabots.
She is Professor Eugenius' rival in her challenge, keen to uncover the truth about the fixies after her former friend unfairly won a competition by using them.
History[]
Backstory[]
Erica met Eugenius at university. They did experiments together, traveled, and spent a lot of time together. Until the day they entered the competition. The participants had to present their 3D printer in which a bottle could be made. Although Erica did the task well, Eugenius' bottle also contained a sailing ship, what the jury found incredible. So he got the diploma and Erica angrily turned away from him never to speak to him again.
Present[]
Erica comes to Professor Eugenius' laboratory without any permission, where his assistant Lisia tries to stop her. She accuses him of cheating in a competition from their student days because he did his project with the help of Fixies, and therefore demands that they run the competition again, but this time with their own helpers. If he loses, Eugenius must publicly reveal the secret about the Fixies. But if he refuses the challenge, Erica threatens to publish the dossier on Fixies herself on her tablet. Which is why Eugenius has no other choice and takes part in the duel.
She later appears in Eugenius' dream where she modeled his lab in her own since he supposedly lost the duel.
When Eugenius arrives at a Archimedes yacht owned by Erica, the two start their duel. Erica gets her ideas for what their 3D printers should build from a book about aphorisms, in which she chooses her topic on random pages. On the first round they make dolls. Eugenius makes Erica's model and she his. But due to the absence of Grandpus, the teacher of the Fixies, the puppet could not be built successfully like Erica's, which could additionally dance and sing, so she won the round.
She then introduces her little helpers, Crabots, Eugenius and Fixies and explains how and why they are better than Fixies since Crabots are all the same and just follow their orders. Therefore Fixies challenge them to a duel against them personally. But despite their best efforts, the Crabots are winning every round through the sixth. On the seventh, final round, one breaks and Erica says there's no need to fix it and orders the other Crabots to remove it. But Nolik and Mega, two of the Fixies hide it on a shelf. Because Erica's helpers have outcomed Fixies for the second time, she was ready to publish the secret on her dossier. But since Grandpus returned, she gives them another chance.
The second task in the duel is to make 'helpers of helpers'. Eugenius pulls it off this time, but Erica's new helpers only listen to the old Crabots, which causes immediate trouble. She says she doesn't need the old Crabots anymore, so the newly made ones throw the old Crabots in a shredder. Without having a commander, they start destroying the ship to collect parts for making new Crabots.
Erica and Eugenius are locked in the lowest area of the yacht and only Fixies can do anything. As Eugenius tries to get up and open the manhole, the photo that Erica tore up at the beginning, where they're seen as students, falls out of his shirt. Erica is very touched that he glued it together and keeps the photo with him. Eventually Fixies find a way to 'change' the new Crabots while the glass at the bottom breaks and water leaks in. However the two manage to save themselves through the aquarium they hold above themselves.
After her rescue, she apologizes to her broken Crabot and throws the dossier in the water, indicating that it is no longer needed. In the end, Erica and Eugenius get married on her new made Archimedes yacht.
