Dr. Emerson became a suspect after Scooba gear of his was found on a crime scene.
Emerson said that he came to Grimsborough to investigate the demon fish that has been terrorizing Maple Heights for weeks. Jones and the player asked Emerson if he knew the victim, but he said sadly no.
He was spoken to again when the team found out that he and the victim went to the same elementary school and were in fact sitting next to each other. Emerson revealed that the victim was a ruthless and hated bully and often bullied him, even after Emerson became a successful scientist the victim still mocked him. He was later found innocent for the murder.
He became a suspect again when a photo of him and his cousin, Martha Price was found where they were fishing as children. He said that when they were kids they played together all the time but as time passed the political and science stuff drove them apart. He was saddened that Martha was eaten by the demon fish and wish that he had met her sooner.
He was spoken to again when Jones and the player found out that he and Martha where arguing on the phone. He said that he wanted the demon fish to be held in special facilities instead of being killed off while Martha wanted them all to be killed, he said he wanted to experiment on the fish more and Martha didn't understand that. Eventually he was found guilty for the release of the demon fish, attempted theft from the police office, murder of Martha Price and at least twenty others.
He said after he heard that Martha was gonna kill the fish he needed to do something in the name of science, he snuck into the animal-holding facilities and started fighting with Martha. He then took a screwdriver and stabbed her with it and pushed her into the tanks and released the fish once again. When Judge Powell heard of this she sentenced him to life in prison with no chance of parole.
