Eso and Kechizu are the main antagonists of the Death Painting Arc in the manga and anime series Jujutsu Kaisen. They are the younger brothers of Choso and the older half-brothers of the series protagonist: Yuji Itadori.
Eso is voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama in Japanese and by Landon McDonald in English. Kechizu is voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi in Japanese
Appearance[]
Eso[]
Eso has a tall and muscular body. He has brown hair in a mohawk style and has purple-colored eyes with piercings. His neck is surrouded by a red bow tie attached to a striped collar. that consists of a white cuffs around his wrists. His chest is covered by a band connected to suspenders to his leggings and is barefoot.
His original design in the manga appears to be different as his legging is more revealing as the leggings are more of boots that arrives up to his legs connected to his waist.
He has a gruesome face on his back.
Kechizu[]
Kechizu has a ghastly appearance. His body a turquoise colored that has its back rised at the top with long arms that are about the same height as his head and hands that have small claws along with his large legs.
He has a smaller somewhat humanoid face with no eyes but instead blood dripping out of it and has a larger mouth under that appears to be smiling revealing large teeths and also blood dripping.
Personality[]
The two siblings alongside the eldest Choso, greatly cares about each others so much that they basically view themself as one due their close time they spent for over 150 decades.
Eso[]
Eso is always willing to help his younger brother upon calling him for aid and is very protective to each other. Suprinsly, Eso doesn't harbor any hatred towards jujutsu sorcerers as he did intented to allow Nobara to leave before engaging in a battle. His only concern is following the wishes of his older brother, Choso, and taking care of Kechizu.
He is also embarassed about his monstrous appearance of his back that he conceals as a secret as he gets irritated to anyone who happens to sees it, causing him to murder anyone who does. In addition Eso has a rather strange nature that entertains him at playful interactions with others.
Kechizu, unlike the other siblings, is seen to be the least mature out of the three siblings.
Biography[]
At some point 150 years ago, a woman that has the unsual ability to give birth to childrens that appears to be cursed spirits gave birth to nine death paintings in which three are known Eso, Choso and Kechizu. The brothers are then stored somewhere in Jujutsu High.
During the invasion of the Kyoto Goodwill, the brothers as well as Sukuna’s fingers were stolen by Mahito along with the rest of Kenjaku’s group.
At some point during the Death Painting Arc, Mahito granted them physical body and allies with them. The brothers arrives at Yasohachi Bridge where Echizu appears behind Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi who were about to face some cursed spirits. Yuji volunteers to face the new opponent. Kechizu fires a bunch of blood at Yuji who dodges it and tries to attack Kechizu who then grabs his arms and tries in his turn to make an attack. Yuji however kicks him in the face and land away.
Meanwhile while Megumi and Nobara faces the mole-like cursed spirits, Nobara is suddenly taken away and is informed that she could leave since their mission did not include to eliminate jujutsu sorcerers. Seeing his brother had taken action on Kugisaki, he decides to join him while Yuji follows him, leaving Megumi alone to face the rest of the cursed spirits.
Confused about what Eso said, and then stated that sorcerers might also have the same objecive to gather the fingers of Sukuna. After Megumi Fushiguro had finished his battle against a Finger Bearer and now has a finger, Eso manages to detect it and decides to go to the location from where he senses the curse object while having Nobara following him behind.
Nobara asks about Eso’s running style to which he stated that he intends to kill her if she happens to see his back due to having a complex. Kechizu followed by Yuji then happens to find them and calls their respective allies’ name. Shocked and irritated, Eso declares to kill Yuji who was apologizing alongside Echizu. Nobara then takest he advantage of Eso's momentary lapse to try to land a suprise attack from behind while also asking why he is dressed like that. Eso answers that it gets stuffy if he does before activating his technique Nobara asks about Eso’s running style to which he stated that he intends to kill her if she happens to see his back due to having a complex. Kechizu followed by Yuji then happens to find them and calls their respective allies’ name. Shocked and irritated, Eso declares to kill Yuji who was apologizing alongside Echizu. Nobara then takest he advantage of Eso's momentary lapse to try to land a suprise attack from behind while also asking why he is dressed like that. Eso answers that it gets stuffy if he does before activating his technique extreme corrosion technique: "Winged King" while declaring that he will kill the two of them. Yuji warns Kugisaki to not touch the blood and Kugisaki says that she can tell before having being caught off guard by a sudden attack that nearly hits her. Yuji then decides to carry her after seeing that she can’t run as he can while Eso attacks them from behind.
Eso is not concerned as he knows that his brother Echizu had taken a short path to catch up to the sorcerers. As Echizu appears from behind he spat his blood on Yuji who manage to react quick enough to push Nobara out of the way. As Yuji is covered with blood, Nobara is also striked from behind by Eso who manage to catch up. The Death Painting states that he and his brother’s blood do not have the same properties before activating their techniques Corrosion Technique: ”Rot”. Eso explains his technique. Nobara praises the brothers before activating her straw doll technique at her turn.
Kechizu is then repeadly punched by Yuji despite the poison that was spreaded over his body. As Eso starts panicking for the sake of his brother Nobara activates her technique again striking pain to both of the brothers. Nobara and Yuji then switches opponents. Eso faces Yuji in a hand-to-hand combat. Eso attacks him with his Winged King attack but misses it. Kechizu is then repeadly punched by Yuji despite the poison that was spreaded over his body. As Eso starts panicking for the sake of his brother Nobara activates her technique again striking pain to both of the brothers. Nobara and Yuji then switches opponents. Eso faces Yuji in a hand-to-hand combat. Eso attacks him with his Winged King attack but misses it.
On the other side, Kechizu is seriously injured by Nobara. Yuji then uses black flash to land an attack powerful enough to blow away Eso’s right arm while Kechizu screams for help as he tries to attack Nobara from behind. Nobara activates her techniques “Hairpin” which kills Kechizu. Soon after a car happens to pass by. Eso jumps on the car and uses one of the passenger as hostage to force the driver to accelerate. As Yuji tries to catch up the car, Eso warns him to not. Eso swears to avenge his brother but then is confused seeing Nobara still standing near Kechizu’s corpse.
On the other side, Kechizu is seriously injured by Nobara. Yuji then uses black flash to land an attack powerful enough to blow away Eso’s right arm while Kechizu screams for help as he tries to attack Nobara from behind. Nobara activates her techniques “Hairpin” which kills Kechizu. Nobara activate another of her technique “Resonance” which impals Eso from the inside of his body seriously injuring him. Yuji then lands the final blow on him with a heavy punch. Meanwhile as Mahito, Kenjaku and Choso were playing, Choso informs them that his brothers are dead. Kenjaku questions him how he knows that. As Kenjaku checks his phone, he reveals that they were killed by Itadori and Nobara.
Choso decides to avenge them by attacking Itadori in Shibuya, and tries to kill him.
