Ethan Skate is the main antagonist of the 2025 sci-fi action-adventure film The Electric State.

He is the CEO of Sentre who became known for his development of Neurocaster technology that allow humans to transfer their minds to robot drones, thereby turning the tide in humanity's favour and leading to the collapse of the Machine Quality Coalition. However, his technology lead to many people to mostly live their virtual lives while drones did most of their work, thereby leading to the rise of humanity's laziness. At the same time, Skate and Sentre also plans to exploit Christopher's intellect and intergrate his conciousness into Neurocaster, which was instrumental during the Robot Revolution.

He is portrayed by Stanley Tucci (who also played the Merlin in Transformers: The Last Knight.

Ethan Skate is a white male it’s a lack of hair and spectacles. He dresses in formal attire, typically neutral colors, and has brown eyes.

Personality

Ethan Skate is an incredible innovator and genius. Although he is incredibly ambitious

Skate views his actions as beneficial, believing he's offering a solution to a fractured world. However, his disregard for the ethical implications of his technology and his manipulation of Christopher reveal a deeper, more sinister side to his character. His belief in the righteousness of his cause blinds him to the harm he's causing, making him a complex antagonist who embodies the dangers of unchecked technological advancement and the moral compromises it can entail.

Trivia

• Ethan Skate is a dark parrell to Michelle Greene, both of them who lost their families with Michelle losing her brother and parents while Skate has lost his mother and uses the VR Sentry tech to see her again by using Christopher's high intelligence. If Michelle were to use the technology that her teacher was offering her for therapy, she would have ended up like Ethan Skate.
• There are several hints that Ethan Skate is using Christopher's body for power and technology
  • When the TV News introduce the Sentry VR headset, they show a woman using it in which transfer her to the beach while in Michelle's past, She was caring for her brother at the same beach.
  • It is impossible for people to build such great technology for the VR headset even in 1990 to 1994. This could imply that Ethan was using Christopher's high gifted intelligence and brain to build the most powerful VR in the world.
  • Funnily enough, when Christopher (in his Kid Cosmo form) he tells Michelle that together they can defeat the rock monster; this means he was talking about Ethan Skate since he doesn't had hair or the fact that his heart is made out of stone.
  • It is sad to know that it's against the law to not wear a VR Headset and go out to join a sentient robot, this could also mean that Ethan Skate tries to use this opportunity to cover his tracks so no one can learn the truth about the real world they live in.
  • A creepy fact that Ethan can use the VR set to spy on others and personally interact with them.
• Ethan Skate is similar to the villain, Al-G Rythem from Warner Bros's 2021 live action/animated hybrid film, Space Jam: A New Legacy. Both of these villains who uses technology to take advantage of others although Ethan is a AI person. These two characters antagonized the main protagonists, LeBron James and Michelle Greene and the two villains have also kidnap their family members which includes Michelle's brother and LeBron's son, Don James.
• Skate is the worst and horrible man in the world, as he commits the 4 of the 7 Deadly Sins which is: Pride, Greed, Power, and Wrath.
• He is also comparable to Howard Clifford from Warner Bros's 2019 live action Pokemon film, Detective Pikachu. Both of them abuses the power of a human child and Mewtwo, a clone of the legendary Pokemon Mew. They have the ability to enter the minds with Skate using Christopher's intellect for Sentry technology while Clifford uses Mewtwo and control it to produce a highly toxic chemical made from his cells called R.
• Despite he did all this was just to see his mother, Ethan is really older now and he must move on from the past in order to interact and befriend other people. But he failed to do that and ended up in prison, if Ethan would have just learn to deal with Death and accept the truth of reality of what is still the good things in life then Skate would not be in this situation.
