~ Sr. Manguera's most famous phrase

Eusebio Manguera, or simply known as Sr. Manguera (Mr. Hose), is the overarching antagonist of the Chilean TV show 31 Minutos.

He is a wealthy businessman and owner of 31 Minutos' channel, being also the boss of the program staff.

He is voiced by Fernando Solís, who's also the off-voice of Universal Channel in Latín America.

History[]

Early life[]

During his youth, Manguera bought a greengrocery and turned it into a fan shop, there lived a young Mario Hugo alongside his carrot and pumpkin parents, so Manguera kicked them out of their new shop.

Years later he would became a millionare and would own a television channel, where it would come the news show 31 Minutos. When he became rich, he also enjoyed to spend his fortune without worries, acquiring the strangest eccentricities, such as eating roast panda bear and warming himself with bonfires of banknotes.

31 Minutos[]

In the first episode of Season 3 "Por el Sr. Manguera" (For Mr. Manguera), Manguera orders the show team to look for real news, so Mario Hugo reports about fans kidnapping, resulting in the investigation of the fan gang leader and the detention and trial of Manguera, who was declared innocent, but losing all his fortune that was collected by his lawyer, Juan Pablo Sopa, so Manguera ended up living in the trash, losing his sanity over time. One year later, the show's team made a telethon to recover Manguera's fortune so he could hire them back and make the show again. After some failed attempts by the show's team, Manguera would end up recovering his fortune by finding oil while digging a swimming pool for poor children. With his oil he would make the gas station 31 Minutos, hiring Tulio and his friends back.

In the eleventh episode of Season 3 "Bodoque Apostador" (Bodoque Gambler), it is revealed that Sr. Manguera was the evil boss of the mob to which Bodoque owed money. When he discovers Bodoque, Tulio, Juanín, Policarpo, Patana and Mario Hugo gambling he sends his dog Pupi to watch them, but Guaripolo appears and dares Manguera to a dog fight with his "dog", Papi (a disguised buffalo), betting the channel. After Pupi lost the dog fight against Papi, Guaripolo turns into the new boss of 31 Minutos, Bodoque suggests Guaripolo to bet the channel, so he tricks him to get the channel back, then Manguera says that Bodoque can give him back the channel, but Bodoque decides to give it to the mob as pay. When the show team discovers that Manguera was the mob boss, he invites them to Las Vegas to avoid explanations.

In the ninth episode of Season 4 "Oestelandia" (Westland), after the show staff got absent for a week after falling asleep after watching the Boxing Ballet fight, Manguera sold the channel to Señor Vaquero in exchange for all his fortune, but he regretted it after discovering that Señor Vaquero's fortune was made of manure, so he appears in the studio, dressed as a cowboy and challenging Señor Vaquero, starting a shooting duel, but since the two have bad aim, they end up in an eternal exchange of bullets.
