Evaccaneer DOOM is the hidden final boss of the bullet hell shooter Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi. A terrifying superweapon built by the EVAC Industry Co. Ltd., DOOM is presumed to be the ultimate creation—or possibly even the embodiment—of the corporation’s ruthless militaristic ambition. It appears only under specific, extreme conditions, rising from the wreckage of the regular final boss (Evaccaneer) as a last, desperate act of defiance by the dying megacorporation. DOOM is considered the true final obstacle of the game and, by extension, the most dangerous manifestation of EVAC's legacy.

Appearance Conditions[]

Evaccaneer DOOM only appears if the player:

  • Reaches the second loop of the game
  • Scores at least 120,000,000 points.
  • Completes the first loop without losing a single life or using any bombs.
  • And defeats the standard final boss, Evaccaneer, again in the second loop.

Upon fulfilling these brutal requirements, DOOM emerges from the debris of Evaccaneer and initiates an intense bullet-hell battle. The player is not allowed to continue if they die during this fight—losing to DOOM results in a game over, regardless of progress.

Details[]

As the final failsafe and ultimate weapon of EVAC Industry, Evaccaneer DOOM functions as the literal endgame. Its design and attack patterns are vastly more complex and punishing than any other enemy in the game, pushing players to their absolute limits. Whether DOOM is piloted, remotely controlled, or sentient remains ambiguous, enhancing its mystery and menace.

Evaccaneer DOOM is regarded as one of the most iconic secret bosses in the bullet hell genre, both for its mechanical design and the brutal challenge it represents. It is the true face of EVAC’s obsession with power—cold, relentless, and merciless.

Defeat[]

DOOM’s defeat signifies the absolute collapse of EVAC Industry Co. Ltd. and the potential end of the apocalyptic conflict perpetuated by the corporation. If the player manages to defeat DOOM, it is destroyed in a climactic explosion, symbolizing the end of EVAC’s reign of terror. The four strike-team pilots succeed in their impossible mission, though at the cost of their own lives.

Trivia[]

  • The fight against DOOM is very reminiscent of the fight with Hibachi from the DonPachi series, except DOOM has a butterfly motif in comparison with Hibachi's hornet motif. In fact, even his theme song, No Remorse, is similar to Hibachi's theme.
  • The boss's name as well as its theme song may or may not be a reference to the first-person shooter Doom. Aside from its name, the theme song, No Remorse, may be a reference to one of Metallica's songs with the same name, and it was also one of the songs that inspired the first stage theme from Doom.
