Evan Lormer is the main antagonist of the Chicago P.D. episode "Called In Dead".
He was portrayed by John Ferrick.
Biography[]
Past[]
He worked as a public defender for several years, with a reputation as a zealous advocate. At some point, he was approached by drug lords Blue and the Gary Brothers, who offered him a cut of their profits in return illegally manipulating their trial on drug charges and keep them out of prison, an offer he eagerly accepted. He began falsifying documents to get them sentenced to probation and community service in lieu of jail. From then on, Lormer was their right-hand man, fixing their trials whenever they were arrested and getting rich in the process.
"Called In Dead"[]
After the theft of their drugs and Blue's arrest, Lormer supplied the brothers with the address of Det. Alvin Olinsky, one of the arresting officers. The two broke in Olinsky's home, where they took his wife Meredith captive and blackmailed him to get the drugs back, with the intention of killing them both afterwards. Olinsky notified his team of the situation, leading to the death of Jamal and arrest of Jesse. However, neither Blue nor Jesse would give up Lormer.
Soon Intelligence learned the history of Blue and the Gary brothers. They soon uncovered that a law official had falsified documents to keep them safe and likely has been acting as a mole, with it noted by Olinsky they would have access to arrest documents signed by him, explaining how they found his house. Intelligence initially suspected a judge but soon discover Lormer's involvement and move to arrest him. Realizing the heat was on, Lormer feigned illness to go home early to avoid meeting the cops. When they find him in the garage, he panics and attempts to flee in his car, but he ends up crashing, leading to a broken nose. Intelligence forced him to surrender and open the trunk, which is full of incriminating evidence; they then arrest him.
When he is brought in, his nose was treated, and he is admonished by detectives Lindsay and Halstead on his choices for aiding known criminals and questioned as to why he allowed them to cause chaos. Evan defended himself; by stating he only saw corruption in the system and gives the history of how he wanted in on the cut. He is then told that the drugs his lackeys were distributing had been responsible for several deaths of kids. Although initially shocked, he is unrepentant in his choice and stated if it wasn't him then it would have been someone else.
He is then imprisoned for life on the charges of drug dealing, accessory to kidnapping and several murders, and conspiracy. along with his colleagues.
