~ Mad Eye-Moody commenting on how Rosier was the one responsible for destroying his eye. |
Evan Rosier is a minor antagonist in the Harry Potter franchise. He was a Death Eater and active fighter in the First Wizarding War.
History
Early life
Evan was born a pure blood wizard in roughly 1960 and was sorted into Slytherin House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the late 70s Rosier graduated from Hogwarts and became an active Death Eater and was apparently more of a thrill seeker and fierce fighter as opposed to a traditional duellist.
Encounter with Mad-Eye Moody
In 1981 Evan and a fellow Death Eater named Wilkes where cornered by Mad-Eye Moody a famous auror who was also a powerful dullest. Rather than surrendering however Rosier decided to duel with Mad-Eye in an attempt to escape, he even blew off a large portion of the latter's nose and his entire right eye before being killed by Moody shortly following the death of Wilkes.
Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire
Evan was briefly mentioned in a flashback by Igor Karkaroff who presented Evan's name along with other Death Eaters in order to be released from Azkaban, he was then informed of the latter's death.
Personality
From what very little is known about Rosier he appears to be rather confident, determined and loyal to the Death Eaters as well as their master Lord Voldemort. He also appears to be one of the more powerful and dangerous death eaters as he was able to hold his own against Mad-Eye Moody and even managed to severely injure him before his demise.
Trivia
- The film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald included a witch called Vinda Rosier, who presumably is a relative of Evan Rosier. She also happens to be loyal follower of Gellert Grindelwald another dark wizard existing before Voldemort.
