Eve Jenson is a fictional character and supporting antagonist of the British soap opera Emmerdale. She appeared as a major antagonist in 2001-2002 and a minor character in 2006 before reappearing as an anti-villain in 2010-2011.

In her characterisation, Eve is the granddaughter of established character Edna Birch. They initially bonded until Eve had kicked Edna's dog Betty in fustration, which led to the dog's death and Eve leaving the village in shame. Thereafter she apparently reformed and made amends with Edna, only to end up having an affair with her boss Carl King and destroy his relationship with her friend Chas Dingle in the process.

She was portrayed by Raine Davison in 2001-2006 and then by Suzanne Shaw in 2010-2011 altogether.

History

Eve Jenson was born in 1984 and became the granddaughter of village resident Edna Birch.

She arrived at the village in 2001 and befriended several people around her age, only to end up causing trouble on various occasions. At one point, she was involved in a hit and run that led to the death of their teacher Miss Strickland in the process; Eve was unrelenting over what happened and kept a cool head whereas the others were worried about getting in trouble. She later slept with Marc Reynolds, the one who killed their teacher, and then started a fight with his sister Ollie when they had an argument.

In 2002, Eve fell out with Edna and ended up kicking her beloved dog Betty in a fit of fustration. Edna was horrified by what happened, especially when Betty was later put down for her injuries, and she disowned Eve before kicking her out of the village. Eve went on to live with her aunt Lily Butterfield afterwards.

Off-screen, Eve got married in 2006 before she got divorced. Then in 2010 Eve returned and wanted to make amends with Edna. This steadily worked and she soon became acquainted with her boss Carl King, but then the two began an affair while Carl was planning his wedding to his lover Chas Dingle; it was at that point Chas and Eve became friends. But then Chas found out about the affair and went on to expose it on their Christmas wedding day before jilting Carl and shaming Eve for what happened.

In 2011, Eve antagonized Chas by setting sights on her niece's boyfriend Cameron Murray and clashing with her cousin Charity Dingle in the process. Eve later decided to leave the village for good.
