Evelyn Kwong is a supporting antagonist in season 3 of Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. She is Cookie's former arch rival as well as love interest.
She was portrayed by Michelle Kim.
Biography[]
Stressin' Out[]
Evelyn made her first appearance in the episode Stressin' Out where she defeated Cookie in the top spot for the top 20 Grade Makers at James K. Polk Middle School. Cookie becomes determined to beat Evelyn and regain the top spot the two of them begin to study for an English test across the same table from each other they were both so determined to beat each other that Cookie even turned down his crush Lisa Zemo to get pizza with her just to beat Evelyn. They are later seen taking the test and Cookie manages to beat Evelyn by handing in more textbooks than her. Evelyn is later seen bragging to Cookie that she will beat him again next week but Cookie just wishes her good luck leaving Evelyn confused and angry demanding that he teach her how he remained calm.
Dismissal[]
Evelyn is first seen walking to the bus but realizes she forgot some of her books and walks back into school. Later Cookie runs back into school to get his science textbook only to accidently kiss Evelyn on the lips she get's angry and chases after him and he manages to make it to the boy's bathroom and Evelyn waits for him to come out. Cookie makes a deal with the Backpack Boy to change clothes and sneak out and avoid Evelyn she attacks Backpack Boy only to realise she had been tricked and continues on her chase for Cookie. Cookie thinks he's got away from Evelyn but she appears again and he demands to know what Evelyn wants from him and tells her that there going to miss the bus Evelyn responds by saying that she'll stay all night at the school if it means destroying him. Still blocking Cookie's path Ned suddenly appears and let's them know that the bus leaves in 2 minutes. Cookie tries to get past Evelyn but she keeps blocking the way just then another student who needed to use the bathroom walk's into Evelyn and Cookie manages to escape up the stairs. Cookie makes it to the entrance way but Evelyn is blocking his path again having had enough Cookie argues that Evelyn doesn't hate him but fears him she responds by calling him deranged Cookie argues that he's been the only student to ever challenge her and she'd be lost in an academic disparity without him he tells her that if he want's a piece of him she can come and get it Evelyn charges at Cookie and to his surprise and shock she kisses him she comments that he drives her crazy and pushes his face sideways.
Social Studies[]
Evelyn and Cookie are teamed up by the social studies teacher Mrs. Knapp for a contest to win a trip to Washington, D.C., and participate in the Student Expo in spite of their protests. Cookie becomes desperate to lose the contest by intentionally sabotaging Evelyn's project Evelyn becomes enraged at Cookie and she chases Cookie but he escapes to the boy's bathroom. Cookie destroys Evelyn's project again with a toy dinosaur and she jumps on his back and punches him. He finally sets her project on fire and having had enough of Cookie's behaviour she quits being his partner saying she'd rather get an F than work with him. Cookie is delighted at first but after he see's his crush Lisa and popular jock Seth's project he apologizes to Evelyn and she agrees to become his partner again saying she could always use another academic achievement. Evelyn and Cookie end up winning the contest and Cookie is delighted that Lisa isn't going with Seth to which Ned reminds him that he's still going with Evelyn leaving him with a stuck look of shock on his face.
Revenge[]
Evelyn tricks Cookie into believing that there's an upcoming pop quiz on logarithms she then skips away happily. Cookie is confused about why Evelyn is first beating him up then being nice to him to which Ned comments that she's either crazy or in love or both to which she then pop's out from the corner shouting "logarithms" and Ned decides she's definitely both. Later the surprise pop quiz turns out to be about algorithms not logarithms and Cookie is shocked that Evelyn had lied to him she gloats that he will fail the test and laughs mockingly. Cookie fails the test and plans to get revenge on Evelyn by throwing water balloons at her, but he accidently hits the school bully Billy Loomer. Cookie tries again to get revenge on Evelyn and fills Evelyn's locker with water balloons but when she opens the locker nothing happens Cookie then opens Evelyn's locker and get covered in the water balloons he put in her locker. Later Cookie hooks up a net of water balloons on the door of Evelyn's next class as she's about to open the door she suddenly apologizes to Cookie for lying to him about the subject of the pop quiz and admits she was a jerk she then rushes up to him and kisses him Cookie tries to warn Evelyn of the trap he set up only for the water balloons to fall all over her head angry at this she chases Cookie out of the school.
Volunteering[]
As part of volunteering day Evelyn is working at the schools supply store Cookie is instructed to volunteer at the store to and when he see's Evelyn he screams in fear. Evelyn is not good at her job as she screams at customers and calls them "idiots" Cookie tries to get her to be nicer to the customers and says the customer is always right but she ignores that advice and brags that she is the school's number one seller but Cookie says it's because she's the only one who has ever worked there she asks Cookie that he thinks he could do better and she challenges him to see who the better school seller is. Evelyn and Cookie start to compete with each other and start putting discounts on the store items to make them sell faster it gets out of hand when they eventually start giving away all of their items for free. The school's principal Mr. Wright berates them for putting on discounts without his permission and for giving away items for free with the t-shirts costing $3 each costing the school $120 in total he tells them that they must work in one school store only and no more discounts are allowed. Evelyn and Cookie finally start working together both of them are carrying boxes and accidently bump into each other they laugh it off at first before staring at each other fiercely.
Friends Moving[]
Evelyn gives Cookie a present before demanding that he give it back to her she opens it up and acting as if he gave her the present opens it up and it's a pair of friendship rings she comments that he didn't have to buy rings for them to which Cookie replies he didn't. Cookie lies to Evelyn that he can't go out with her because his dad got a new job in Hawaii working in a coconut factory. Cookie is having a going away party when Evelyn exposes him and calls out his lies telling everyone that his house is not for sale, there are no coconut factories in Hawaii and she even called his dad and told him that Cookie was in big trouble angered by Cookies lies the partygoers push a cake into his face. Later Cookie talks to Ned about how everyone hates him for his deception but is happy knowing Evelyn must hate him to. Evelyn appears and calls Cookie a sneaky con artist who is selfish and deceiving but to his confusion she is exactly what she wants in a man she gives him the friendship rings again before taking them back and putting them on his and her fingers Cookie reluctantly leaves with her in anguish.
Boys[]
Evelyn asks Moze why boys like her and don't like her to which Moze says that she comes off too strong only proving the point when she shouts out that she doesn't come off strong. Evelyn begs Moze to teach her about her expert boy ways and Moze eventually agrees after being pestered by Evelyn. Moze starts to teach Evelyn about boys when the fellow boy crazy gardening club walk by and ask to join the class on boys Evelyn comments that Moze is a genius and they all join the class. Moze encourages the girls to find common interests with the boys but one of the gardening club members shifts the conversation to kissing to which Evelyn asks how she can kiss a boy who likes computers referring to Cookie. In Moze's class the girls ask her to take them to meet some boys she tries telling them that she can't just have them come at them with open arms and flowers just then the gardening club's arbour day float ridden by Ned, Cookie and others runs into them. Luckily no one is hurt and Evelyn is last seen hugging Cookie making him uncomfortable.
School Newspaper[]
Evelyn threatens Cookie to go out with her for Pizza but Ned saves Cookie by saying he's writing for the school newspaper when she's asks Cookie what he's writing about he looks around and noticing a girls t shirt he tells her he's writing about horoscopes she then let's him off the hook. Later after Cookie's made up horoscopes are found out Evelyn let's everyone who read them know that Cookie wrote them and they chase after him.
Jealousy[]
Evelyn becomes jealous that Cookie is jealous from all the attention his crush Lisa is getting. Cookie comes up with a plan to make Lisa jealous of him and creates a fake girlfriend Evelyn becomes angry after overhearing this. She is later seen when Cookie tosses a bunch of flowers towards her after trying to make Lisa jealous but this backfires on him as she wants to meet his girlfriend Evelyn then bites off and spits out one of the flowers in rage. Later Gordy the janitor creates a fake girlfriend for Cookie using Larry the schools health dummy Evelyn in a full on jealous rage attacks Larry and knocks out Gordy who was controlling him she then sits down with Cookie and Lisa assumes that Evelyn is his girlfriend to which Cookie's says yes and asks if she's jealous to which Lisa responds that she's not the jealous type Evelyn who is now officially albeit unintentionally Cookie's girlfriend pulls him in and kisses him while cries out in fear.
Tests[]
Cookie tries to think of another way to get rid of Evelyn as his girlfriend so he can go out with Lisa after reading Moze's teen magazine with a compatibility test section he get's the idea to use one himself for him and Evelyn. Cookie presents the compatibility test to Evelyn and tells her it's for her benefit to that they will find out scientifically if Cookie is her type or for example Seth's type Evelyn comments that Seth is hot, popular and every girls dream but she was fine settling for him Cookie asks Evelyn if they really have anything in common to which she responds that they both like test and are smart Cookie asks Evelyn the first question which is what her favourite colour is and she says green which is Cookie's favourite colour as well but he says they have a lot more testing to do. Cookie's next test for Evelyn is to jump on a trampoline and dunk a basketball in a hoop Evelyn questions how doing this makes them compatible to which Cookie stated that he was crazy enough to try it Evelyn manages to do the stunt shocking Cookie and impressing Seth. Cookie then gives Evelyn a Rorschach test to which she says Cookie for every picture shown when Cookie asks Evelyn why she said his name on every card she tells him that he's all she ever thinks about. In a last ditch attempt to get rid of Evelyn Cookie brings his P. Cookie style back but when he see's Evelyn dressed as cool as he is he comments that she looks amazing and that they are both totally compatible but Evelyn dumps Cookie for Seth after she said that he never made her do a compatibility test Cookie tries to stop them but gives up.
Personality[]
Evelyn is a very intelligent student at James K. Polk Middle School but she is also characterized as being highly competitive, aggressive and jealous (when she see's any other girl taking an interest in Cookie). In spite of her aggressive behaviour towards Cookie she did apologize to him for lying about the subject of a pop quiz and making him fail it showing that she does have an empathetic side. It is speculated that she may have Bipolar Disorder due to her sudden changes in mood.
