Evelyn Lee is the secondary antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit episode “Counselor, It's Chinatown”. She is a spa owner who works for crime boss Christine Chang by keeping Asian women as sex slaves.
She was portrayed by comedian/actress Margaret Cho, who also portrayed Morgan in Infinity Train.
History[]
Not much is known about her backstory, but she does have a daughter named Jia Lee. To pay for college intuition and to protect her, she uses her spa to manipulate Asian girls into doing whatever clients asked for, even sex.
"Counselor, It's Chinatown"[]
Evelyn first comes into the crosshairs when footage of a client raping a girl is found. When she is arrested, she claims to not speak English but this is debunked by Captain Olivia Benson who mentions that she has been here for 30 years and has been arrested ten times. After one of the sex slaves were killed, Lee admits that she saw her as a paternal daughter. Benson figures out her secret and talks about her daughter and how she is doing what she is doing for her. Benson threatens to tell the college how she pays for her intuition so Evelyn tells Benson information on the ring.
