Oh my God, Tina, look! An impenetrable wall of gay!
~ Evil Gabbi taunting Tilly and her party.

Evil Gabbi and Evil Tina are the evil versions of Gabbi and Tina present in Tilly's D&D module in Qui Nguyen's play "She Kills Monsters".

In the module, the two girls take the form of demonic succubi that pose a threat to Tilly and her party multiple times throughout their quest. When creating the module, Tilly modeled them after the real Gabbi and Tina who, while appearing friendly on the surface and claiming to be close friends of Tilly's, actually bullied and harassed her for being a lesbian. As such, the in-game Evil Gabbi and Evil Tina often harass Tilly's character for her sexuality.

In the Play[]

Evil Gabbi and Evil Tina first appear about halfway through the play, after it is revealed that Tilly was a lesbian. During the game, Tilly's character notices that the rest of her party sans Agnes have somehow fallen unconscious, upon which the succubi cheerleaders appear. Upon seeing them, she instantly drops her cool demeanor and tries to flee, but the succubi surround her. When they start harassing her, her older sister Agnes tries to step in, but gets choked by Evil Tina. While holding Agnes hostage, the succubi harass Tilly and call her homophobic slurs. Pretending to be friendly, Evil Gabbi offers to let her join their "Awesome Evil Club", but says that the requirement to join is to make out with her. Seeing no other option, Tilly concedes, but the succubi choose not to go through with it, kicking Tilly down instead and throwing Agnes on top of her. They leave cheerfully, hypnotizing the sisters into a hysterical laughing fit to prevent them from fighting back. Later, when Agnes asks Tilly if those sorts of things actually happened to her in real life, Tilly confirms it.

Later, in the real world, the real versions of Gabbi and Tina come up to Agnes, asking if she wanted to buy an advertisement in the school's yearbook. Tina suggests that she purchase a dedication for her late sister Tilly, although Gabbi tries to shush her. The two girls praise Tilly with false compliments, claiming to have been very close friends of her. Deeply offended, Agnes throws the yearbook against the wall and scares the girls out of her classroom.

Just after that in the module, Tilly and her party run into Evil Gabbi and Evil Tina again. Miles's character (who had just joined) confidently goes up to them, thinking that they wouldn't be anything of a threat, but they easily rip his throat out. Before they start fighting, the Great Mage Steve appears with two staves and also goes up to the succubi, but they rip off his arms and take his weapons. They begin to fight with Tilly's party, easily overpowering them. Just as they're about to kill Tilly, Lilith jumps in front of them, taking the fatal blow for her. Seeing no other way to defeat them, Agnes challenges Evil Gabbi and Evil Tina to a dance battle, which they confidently accept. As the succubi perform their elaborate cheer routine, the rest of the party sneaks up behind them and kills them while they're unarmed.

Personality[]

Evil Gabbi and Evil Tina are very cheerful and outgoing, but also ruthless and cruel at the same time, being able to send the cool-headed TIlly into a panic with their mere presence. They're very prone to violence, as is evident when they tear apart Miles and Steve with their bare hands as soon as they're approached. They sometimes put on a friendly demeanor, such as when Evil Gabbi "invites" Tilly to join their club, but they quickly drop the facade and reveal their true nature. They're openly homophobic as well, as they call Tilly homophobic slurs and bully her for being a lesbian. Despite all this, they both keep cheerful demeanors most of the time, giggling and joking with each other. If Evil Gabbi is to be believed, Evil Tina is very sensitive about her appearance.

In the real world, Gabbi and Tina present as ordinary highschool girls. They appear very chipper and friendly, but they're not above lying to a teacher about her dead sister to sell advertisements for the school yearbook. Like their D&D counterparts, they bullied Tilly for being a lesbian, although the full extent of it is never described. They lack the bravery of their D&D counterparts, however, as they immediately apologize and run away when Agnes yells at them.

Trivia[]

  • As they only appear in three scenes, Evil Gabbi and Evil Tina often double with other characters.
    • In the original Off-Off-Broadway production, Evil Gabbi doubled with the Narrator and Farrah the Faerie, while Evil Tina doubled as Vera.
    • In some productions, Evil Gabbi doubles as the Narrator while Evil Tina doubles as Farrah the Faerie.
  • Kaliope states that everyone in New Landia is gay with the exception of Agnes, meaning that Evil Gabbi and Evil Tina are gay as well. This could be interpreted as the two succubi being insecure and self-loathing about their own sexualities, taking it out on Tilly by being homophobic towards her. There's nothing to imply that the real-world Gabbi and Tina are lesbian, however.
