Villain Overview

EVIL!
~ 627.

Experiment 627, or simply 627, also known as Evile, is a minor antagonist in Disney's Lilo & Stitch franchise.

He is Jumba Jookiba's first genetic experiment, created using minimal technology on Earth, with the intention of surpassing Stitch. Jumba activated 627 when Stitch became rebellious and narcissistic after breaking his record for capturing experiments. 627 is superior to Stitch in every way and has no notable weaknesses (except for laughter). He is so evil that it is utterly impossible for him to be turned good, which means he lacks a "one true place." He is also Stitch's arch-nemesis, Captain Gantu's former sidekick and 625's rival.

Personality[]

627 is a cruel, vile, and malicious experiment who is said to have "extra-evilness" and has an exceptionally high sense of humor. He derives pleasure from continually tormenting and mistreating others, driven by his feral and vicious nature. Redemption is completely impossible for him and he is only capable of communicating through the word "evil". His main goal is to create widespread chaos and havoc as Jumba intended, with no space for any other thoughts or motives in his mind.

627 enjoys emotionally harming others, going to great lengths to ruin not only bad, but also sorrowful moments simply because he can. Although he was created as a malevolent project, he surprisingly has a keen sense of humor that easily entertains him. His loud laughter is easily provoked by simple jokes, especially pranks or misfortunes experienced by others. However, his uncontrollable laughter is also his only weakness. Once he starts laughing, it becomes extremely difficult for him to compose himself, and if he laughs excessively without restraint, he risks losing consciousness.

627 possesses the ability to kill anyone of his choosing. However, he refrains from resorting to murder and instead derives pleasure from torturing his victims. He takes delight in mocking individuals, regardless of their strength, and directs his attacks towards those who provoke him or resist his malevolent actions.

Despite his evil personality, 625 is shown to be willing to work under others, as seen when he adheres to Gantu's instructions without complaint or rebellion, acting docile around him as if a trained dog. This could imply that as long as the person he is working for loves to cause harm like him, he has no problem being anybody's stooge.

Biography[]

Lilo & Stitch: The Series[]

Stitch became increasingly arrogant and egotistical as he incessantly boasted about his greatness and uniqueness, causing Jumba to become irritated and create Experiment 627 to discredit Stitch. After Jumba completed the creation of 627 and brought him to life with Pleakley also witnessing, 627 broke out of his containment and escaped into the wilderness, in which he quickly targeted Reuben, slobbering on him and devouring his sandwich.

Reuben brought 627 to Gantu's ship, where 627 showcased his powers and skills to Gantu by using them on Reuben himself. Gantu was amazed by 627's abilities, so the next day they went to a farmhouse to catch Experiment 603 where Lilo and Stitch were at. Initially, Stitch did not take 627 seriously and saw him as an average experiment, but 627 quickly and easily overpowered Stitch while barely trying, allowing him and Gantu to successfully capture 603 and escape, leaving Stitch flabbergasted. Shortly after that, 627 quickly outperformed Stitch in capturing other experiments and continually tortured and humiliated him with his powers and superior strength, causing him great embarrassment.

In the end, Gantu made the choice to employ 627 for his own agenda of dominating the galaxy, even leaving his position with Hämsterviel. Upon hearing Reuben mock his outfit for taking over the galaxy, 627 blasted Reuben with a beam from his finger, finding humor in the situation to an unusual extent. A mishap with some plasma causes Reuben to fall, leading to even more exaggerated laughter from 627. Gantu disapproved of 627's excessive laughter, prompting Reuben to pay attention to the dynamics at play.

Reuben called Lilo to share his findings, as he was eager to remove 627, and following Reuben's update, Jumba mentioned that by giving 627 an abundance of everything, he may have also gifted him with a great sense of humor. Not long after, Lilo and Stitch, along with Reuben, managed to have 627 and Gantu come to the center of the town for a decisive showdown. 627 pummels Stitch and beats him down effortlessly, which causes him to unintentionally trigger his huge sense of humor. As a result, 627 laughs so much that he passes out, and Lilo later uses a food dehydrator she bought from a TV ad to deactivate him. Once he was dehydrated, Lilo kept his pod in her pocket to protect it.

Stitch![]

Hämsterviel not only reactivated Experiment 627, but also increased his strength and boosted his language capabilities, allowing him to communicate in full sentences. In Hämsterviel's scheme, 627 transforms himself into a prince in order to charm Angel and entice her into a castle hidden in the forest, which is actually a massive rocket ready to launch into outer space. Angel was used as a ploy to capture Stitch, who fell for it and ended up being frozen solid by 627. Despite breaking free, Stitch learned the true identity of the prince and his affiliation. 627, undisguised, then traps Angel in a net on the wall and engaged in a battle with Stitch, also managing to freeze Gantu in the process.

While Yuna, Jumba, Pleakley, and BooGoo trail after Stitch to the castle and reach just in time to witness 627 defeating Stitch, their clumsy arrival causes 627 to start laughing, which leads to Gantu being unfrozen and everyone realizing 627's weakness. They all try to make 627 laugh by dancing, and eventually succeed in making him laugh until he passes out once more. 627 is then locked in a container, but Hämsterviel triggers the rocket while Gantu and Reuben flee with Angel, and seals off all exits with an unbreakable alloy. Despite this, 627 awakens, breaks free from the container, and effortlessly melts through the alloy.

Afterwards, the vehicle Hämsterviel attempted to use to break the Spiritual Stone into smaller pieces malfunctions and crashes into Gantu's space scooter. This results in the scooter and Angel, who is still being held captive, being stuck to the front of the vehicle. In an attempt to rescue her, Stitch leaps onto the vehicle but is faced with the impending danger of crashing into a cliff. Despite his efforts, Stitch is unable to prevent the collision, and with Angel, faces being crushed. Fortunately, 627 arrives, grabbing Hämsterviel's vehicle and hurling it into the distance, destroying it. Grateful for being saved, Stitch expresses his gratitude to 627 and warmly refers to him as "cousin". 627 boards Gantu's scooter and says that next time he won't be so fortunate, claiming that he'll destroy Stitch before anyone else can. 627 then disappears into space on the scooter, leaving his whereabouts unknown.

Lilo & Stitch (2025)[]

In the live action remake, 627 makes a brief cameo appearance. Here, Jumba reveals he intends to reprogram Stitch into 627 by removing his capacity to love. While explaining, 627's holographic model is shown on the computer screen. The model shows that he has only four arms and horns instead of antennae.

Powers and Abilities[]

627 is said to have powers from multiple different experiments, none of their weaknesses, is far more powerful than Stitch, and is generally considered the strongest experiment Jumba has ever made.

  • Enhanced strength: With his keen strength, 627 can easily lift objects that weigh thousands of tons more than his own weight. He surpasses Stitch's strength, being able to defeat him without even needing to try, and effortlessly lift a large farmhouse and hurl it towards Stitch. Additionally, he raised Hämsterviel's space vehicle and sent it flying across great distances.
  • Enhanced durability/invulnerability: 627 is said to be completely indestructible by Jumba, and is shown to be unharmed by nearly anything thrown at him. None of Stitch's attempts to hurt or move him work.
  • Plasma beams: 627 possesses the ability to generate a vibrant green plasma to dissolve any object it comes into contact with. The way in which this plasma is discharged can vary, ranging from focused and intense laser-like beams emitted from the fingers or palms of his hands to forcefully expelling corrosive and condensed plasma from his mouth. 627 can also project plasma beams from his eyes.
  • Frost breath: An ability obtained from Slushy, 627 can emit an ice-cold blast from his mouth to freeze people.
  • Telekinesis: 627 can create a telekinetic beam from his head that paralyzes someone else's body and movement.
  • Electrokinesis: An ability obtained from Sparky, 627 can generate forms of electrical energy which has the capacity to absorb various sources of electricity and amplify its power by ten times. He primarily employs this power as an offensive attack.
  • Enhanced roar: 627 possesses a powerful sonic roar which can launch or push back people. Upon meeting Stitch, he roared so loud that Stitch was sent blown away.
  • Extendable mouth: 627 has a jaw that he can extend from the inside of his mouth.
  • Extendable claws: Similar to Stitch, 627's also capable of extending his claws to a foot in length.
  • Pyrokinesis: From either his hands or forehead, 627 can shoot fire blasts and even engulf/light up his body in intense heat.
  • Rotating claws: 627 is able to spin his claws rapidly to either block out attacks or use them to fight in battle.
  • Diamond powers: 627 can generate and manipulate powers similar to diamonds. He demonstrated this by biting Stitch and encasing him in a diamond-like material.
  • Shooting spikes: From his forehead, 627 can shoot out spikes used to stab his enemies or incapacitate them.
  • Illusions: 627 seemingly has the ability to create illusions as shown when he made an illusion of Angel for Stitch to fall for and be held captive while he watches him be with the real Angel.
  • Energy webs: 627 can shoot energy webs from his hands to trap people with, similarly to a net.
  • Weather control: 627 can control the weather by snapping his fingers, which is shown when he made the sky turn into a storm with electricity falling down.
  • Shapeshifting: 627 can shift his body to put away and take away his two heads and his six arms. 627's body also has a strange form of malleability to it, as he's capable of rolling his body up like a ball and bouncing around, or fitting in spaces far, far smaller then he should be capable of.

Weakness[]

  • Uncontrollable Laughter: 627's only weakness is his uncontrollable laughter. The more he laughs, he became exhausted and collapsed.

Trivia[]

  • 627 is taller, but younger than Stitch.
  • Jumba seemed to have forgotten about Experiment 627 when he proposed naming Leroy as "627." However, Gantu quickly reminded him that Experiment 627 had already been created.
  • Since he can only say "evil", many people have been calling him "Evile".
  • He is one of the few experiments to not be redeemed and remain a villain.
  • In the 2025 live-action remake, Jumba plans to upgrade Stitch into Experiment 627 to remove his empathy. In the original, he never intends to do this.
  • Jumba has stated that 627 is inherently incapable of redemption. However, if his appearance in the anime series is canonical where he rescued Stitch and Angel, but just so he would be the one to destroy the former, it gives the impression that he has some capacity of doing good if only for less-than-altruistic purposes. This sort of creates a loophole in his programming, meaning that while 627 is structured to be irredeemable, he can perform good deeds as long as he does them with bad intentions.
  • Despite never activating him again (arguably for good reason), Lilo doesn't dispose of 627's pod once she dehydrates him and in the episode "Remmy", Lilo dreams of 627 joining in some of Stitch's other cousins in a conga line. This could imply that although she knows 627 was designed to be irredeemable, she still considers him 'ohana and part of her clings to a balief that he has a good side deep down.
