Eya is the overarching antagonist of the 2018 rhythm-puzzle video game Wandersong. She is a goddess who created the universe, but sent Audrey Redheart, the new "hero", to destroy it. Not much is known about her, as she never appears and is only mentioned.
Personality[]
From what we do know: Despite her actions, she is not malevolent. Eya seemingly operates on a different scale of morality where a peaceful uncorrupted world is good even if it involves destroying the old one. She may possibly see destroying the universe as a mercy. Some citizens consider her to be a kind and benevolent goddess despite knowing full well what she is doing, yet consider it a necessary and inevitable cycle and forgive her.
Biography[]
Eya is never seen, only discussed by the characters. She is the immortal creator of the universe, which is in an endless cycle of death and rebirth. The cycle goes: Eya would, through a special song, create a new pure universe, with seven Overseers, cosmic entities which keep stability in regions of the world. Over the ages, the world becomes old and dissonant, causing the Overseers to start to corrupt. Eya sends her messenger, Eyala, to choose a "hero" who will slay the corrupted Overseers and, unknown to the hero, destroy the entire universe by killing all of them. After this, she sings the creation song again, and the cycle begins anew.
The main story of Wandersong takes place in a present that is approaching the end of a cycle. Eyala chose Audrey Redheart as the chosen "hero" to kill the Overseers and thus destroy the universe.
After the Bard and the rest of the world repair the universe with the Wandersong, Eya seems to be okay with the existing world being repaired and continuing to exist (unlike Audrey), evidenced by her lack of any intervention.
