The Eye Guy is the Eye-themed monster of the Evil Space Aliens and a supporting antagonist in the Power Rangers franchise. His first appearance was in the episode "I, Eye Guy", where he served as the eponymous main antagonist. Later, he was a supporting antagonist in the three-part episode "The Wedding", and a minor antagonist in the two-part finale of Power Rangers In Space "Countdown to Destruction".

He is voiced by Richard Cansino who previously voiced King Sphinx and later voiced the Weaveworm, Cardiatron, the Jellyfish Warrior, Grumble Bee, Pursehead in MMPR, Clockster and General Havoc in Power Rangers Turbo, Behemoth and Batarax in Power Rangers In Space, Kegler in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, the Cobra Incarnate in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, Ironspike in Power Rangers Time Force and Jindrax in the first four episodes of Power Rangers Wild Force.

Personality[]

The Eye Guy seemed to show some attraction and affection towards Rita, calling her "lovely" and "a sight for sore eyes". He had something of a sense of humour and often made puns, like responding to Goldar's orders by saluting and saying, "eye-eye!"

Biography[]

Past[]

Rita once employed Eye Guy's skills on Redna 2 to capture incredibly bright children to use their intelligence for evil. Eye Guy was one of Rita's favourite monsters and had an array of energy beam attacks he could launch from his various eyes and could reassemble himself if blown apart.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers[]

After the Evil Space Aliens escape in 1993, they discover that Billy has made friends with a child prodigy so Rita has Finster recreate the Eye Guy. His mission is to capture a highly-intelligent child so Rita can absorb his intelligence and use it for evil which he succeeds in. The Eye Guy is then challenged by the Power Rangers but proves to be invulnerable to even the Power Blaster because he is continually able to reform and has them on the ropes until Billy destroys his main eye. Grown to giant size by Rita, Eye Guy is destroyed by the Dino Megazord, freeing the child before Rita could get to him.

After Mutitus and Lokar trap the Power Rangers on the Island of Illusions, five monsters appear to attack them which includes the Eye Guy but they vanish before reaching the Rangers.

After Rita brainwashes Lord Zedd and plans to marry him, she has Finster recreate many monsters to act as wedding guests which includes the Eye Guy. Once Finster brainwashes Alpha and has him send the Rangers to the Specter Theater, the Eye Guy is among the monsters who attack them and manages to completely overwhelm Aisha due to none of the Rangers having access to thier weapons. The Eye Guy leaves the Rangers briefly to attend Rita and Zedd's wedding where he brings them a caged spider as a gift for "either a decoration or a light snack." After the reception, he returns to Earth with several monsters where he chase after the Power Rangers when they escape the Theater and he is one of six monsters to grow and fight the Thunderzords where he is destroyed by one of Tigerzord's fireballs.

On Halloween 1995, Lord Zedd decides to throw a Halloween party to replicate the one he sees on Earth that year. Whilst he plans what monsters to use in his party, he recalls the complete failure of Doomstone and the Eye Guy during the Haunted Forest plans as well as when he appeared in the Specter Theater.

Turbo[]

A lot of people see monsters on this very spot. If we wait just a few minutes, we might just see one of Angel Grove's most famous monsters. Who could it be? Pudgy Pig? Eye Guy? The Peckster?
~ Bulk.

Although the Eye Guy does not appear in person, he is mentioned as "one of Angel Grove's most famous monsters" by Bulk during thier Monster Tour job as they list off various monsters that could be hiding near Angel Grove Lake.

In Space[]

Two years later, the Eye Guy joins the Machine Empire and General Havoc's army which attacks KO-35 and the Phantom Ranger's home-world. Although they defeat the Blue Senturion and Phantom Ranger, the Eye Guy is turned to dust with the rest of the army when Zordon's Energy Wave washes over the universe.

Lightspeed Rescue[]

The Eye Guy's spirit is amongst the monsters seen in the Shadow World when Queen Bansheera tries to unleash all of the monsters inside to conquer the Earth. Ultimately though, she ends up being trapped in the Shadow World herself and is attacked by the monsters due to her having plans to betray them.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Strength: The Eye Guy easily deflected a slash from Jason's Power Sword and took him down with one smack.
  • Durability: The Eye Guy shrugged off two slashes from Jason's Power Sword with little more than grunts from the hits, was blasted by both of the Megazord Tank Mode's cannons without a scratch, and took two powerful slashes from the Megazord's Power Sword before being taken apart. It took the power of the Power Blaster, the Power Sword slash and the Thunder Saber to defeat him.
  • Hand to Hand Combat: The Eye Guy was easily able to overwhelm and take down Jason even when he had his Power Sword.
  • Depth Perception: The Eye Guy had proper depth perception despite having literally hundreds of eyes.
    • Area Vision: Due to his hundreds of eyes, the Eye Guy could perceive the battle from every possible angle. This also seemingly doubled as a substitute to his main eye which was usually off somewhere else.
  • Goofy Eye Blast: The Eye Guy could protrude a giant cartoonish eye from his main eye to fire a massive red beam from the retina. This was his strongest attack as it caused giant explosions, took down all five Rangers with one blast and severely shoot up the White Tigerzord.
  • Chest Blast: The Eye Guy could fire two eyes with teeth from both sides of his chest at his enemies. This caused a giant fiery explosion and knocked all five Rangers off the hill with one blast.
  • Fireball Eye Blast: The Eye Guy could throw out his arms sideways and fire eyes engulfed in orange flames at his enemies. This attack covered a large area and blasted all five Rangers down with one hit.
  • Teleportation: The Eye Guy could transport his eye to any other location at will.
  • Regeneration: The Eye Guy could regenerate as long as his main eye was undamaged.
  • Eye Strike: The Eye Guy could fire the two eyes on his chest at the Megazord to cause big explosions.
  • Restoring: The Eye Guy could restore his body as long as his main eye remained intact.

Weaknesses[]

  • Main Eye: Although the Eye Guy could reform himself basically indefinitely, he could not reform himself without his main eye which he had to teleport elsewhere for safety reasons. Without it, he could be defeated completely like any other monster.
  • Overwhelming Power: The Eye Guy could easily be destroyed by overwhelming force even without striking his main eye as seen when the Thunder Megazord slew him.

Arsenal[]

  • Claws: The Eye Guy had no weapons of his own but possessed clawed fingers that he could use in combat.
