Ezra Berg is a target and minor antagonist in the Hitman (2016) mission "Freedom Fighters".
Biography
Born into privilege as the son of an Israeli architect, Ezra Berg led a carefree life until he and his family were taken hostage by Hezbollah. While they were eventually rescued by Israeli troops, Berg grew to sympathize with his captors and resented his government's treatment of them.
After studying chemistry, Berg became a Mossad agent, where he developed his clean, efficient chemical interrogation method. Mossad leaders eventually forced him into an early retirement.
In 2015, Berg sold his property in Tel Aviv to travel the world. Shortly before or after, he joined the Shadow Client's militia where he continues to perform his interrogations.
Personality
Despite his ominous job, Berg is an affable and personable man, notably one of the few militia members to treat Penelope Graves with respect and kindess. He despises violence, instead using psychological and chemical torture on his victims, which he saw as a lesser evil. He was soft spoken and polite, even to those he tortured, and was known to get on rather well with a lot of the militia, despite them finding him a bit unsettling.
Appearance
Berg is a tall, Caucasian man. He wears a white shirt underneath a spotted red hoodie, brown slacks and brown shoes. He wears a white mask covering everything on his face but his eyes.
Trivia
- It's implied that Berg has connections to Dalia Margolis, as she calls someone named Ezra in "The Showstopper".
- His mask bears many similarities to the Shatner mask worn by Michael Myers.
- Ezra could be compared to the scarecrow, as both of them use chemicals and psychological torture to break down their victims.
