FIT, short for Fear is Truth, are the titular main antagonists of American Horror Story: Cult.
It is a political cult led by Kai Anderson, aimed to raise chaos and fear to take control over everything admist the declared presidency of Donald Trump as well as its influence.
Overview[]
FIT was founded by Kai Anderson in 2016 after being spurred by his psychiatrist to direct his own rage to a useful purpose, and he had recurited nine other major members as well as thirty workers for his agenda.
The members wore morbid clown costumes designed by one of the original members, Meadow Wilton. They would only wear these costumes during every killing spree they had. The polarizing turmoil they created was so elaborately orchestrated in order to help aid their leader’s quest for the presidency.
The major members are all persuaded by Kai for multiple reasons, mostly with tragic and sympathetic reasons, like Harrison Wilton was sidelined for his homosexuality, Beverly Hope being mocked for her gender and skin color, and Winter Anderson for her fear over her own brother.
However, some members' motive was not that sympathetic, like Ivy Mayfair-Richards for purely selfish and petty personal reason against her wife Ally, Gary Longstreet for being a pure racist and supporter of Donald Trump (giving Kai a reason to exploit him as his pawn), and Jack Samuels for being merely a corrupt person.
No matter what the motive was, Kai persuaded them to join him for seeking equality. In spite of this, as his mentality deteriorated even further, it became clear that Kai founded the cult for his personal gain. He became more and more paranoid and started to doubt and despise anyone around him, particularly women. As a result, it started an conflict between the cult members, with most of them killing each other and a few of them, like Beverly, saw through Kai's true nature and started to protest.
It became further cemented when Ally, after being betrayed by her wife and framed for murder, inflitrated the cult, killing Ivy and Winter for revenge and driving Kai to his edge, until she betrayed him and turn him into jail.
Later, Kai attempted to rise again in his prison, but was stopped by Beverly and Ally and got killed. After Kai's death, FIT became inactive, whilst Ally set up her own political cult akin to Valarie Solaris' SCUM and rose to power.
