Faber-of-Will-and-Might is the overarching antagonist of the Halo franchise.
He is a Forerunner Master-Builder (the highest rank a Forerunner Builder can achieve) and the one responsible for the near-extinction of the Precursor race, who turned themselves into The Flood, and for the construction of the Halo Installations. He is the rival and arch-enemy of The Didact.
His voice actor is currently unknown.
Biography[]
At some point, Faber instigated the Precursor-Forerunner War, as a retaliation against their creators for not giving them the Mantle of Responsibility.
When Humanity and the Forerunners were at war, Faber attended a council meeting to decide the proper cause of action. The Didact proposed to simply defeat the enemy and draw them back to their homeworld, in law of the Mantle. Faber decided to support him with the decision and help him expand his fleet.
Once the Human-Forerunner wars had ended, Faber proposed the idea for the Halo arrays: To destroy The Flood if they ever were to return, and wipe the galaxy of life in dire situations. And to ensure the survival of the Forerunner Builders. The Didact along with The Prometheans opposed this, however it was eventually approved by the Forerunner government, causing the latter to go into exile. The Librarian and Lifeworker Forerunners were against the construction of the rings due to it breaking the laws of the Mantle, and only agreed to make them if they could conserve other lifeforms onto the rings so they could be reborn after it was fired.
Later, Faber decided to test fire Installation 07, releasing an ancient being known as The Primordial. The latter convinced him to continue experimenting on humans and eventually made Mendicant Bias to ally with the flood. After the Didact found out, he was tortured mercilessly by the Primordial (who is now the Gravemind). This caused the Flood to almost defeat the Forerunners. Omega Halo was then activated as a last resort, but the Precursor star roads had collapsed onto the control room of the ring, killing Faber.
