Fadros Pallujikaa

Fadros Pallujika is the main antagonist of the Doctor Who revival episode "The Christmas Invasion" the Christmas special of 2005. He is the arrogant leader of a race named the Sycoraxs who planned to take over Earth and enslave humanity via blood control.

He was portrayed by Sean Gilder, who also played Black Dog in Treasure Island.

Biography[]

Fadros invaded planet Earth on Christmas Day 2006 using A-Positive blood he received via a sample sent by the UK government to establish contact. He used the blood to control the minds of everyone in the world who had that particular blood type and forced all of them (a third of humanity) to stand over high ledges, threatening to make them jump if the leaders of Earth didn't comply with his wishes and hand the planet over to him, with half the population becoming slaves. The last piece of his plan involved him kidnapping part of the UK's leadership including Prime Minister Harriet Jones, as well as Rose Tyler and Mickey Smith due to the two entering the TARDIS, which Fadros had recognised as technology beyond earth.

He interrogated the two until eventually being confronted by the freshly regenerated and recovered Tenth Doctor who called his bluff with the blood control stunt, knowing he couldn't actually kill anyone through such a method. The Doctor then challenged Fadros to a duel for planet Earth and he eagerly accepted. The fight grew heated until the two made it onto the exterior of the ship where Fadros managed to gain the upper hand and slice the Doctor's hand off; unfortunately for him however, the Doctor had enough remaining regeneration energy to restore said hand, frightening and distracting Fadros until the Doctor managed to gain the upper hand over him. Much to his surprise, however, the Doctor spared his life on the condition that he never return to Earth; he swore it on the blood of his species.

Fadros recovered from the battle shortly after and attempted almost instantly to strike the Doctor down from behind, before the latter managed once again to outsmart him by throwing a satsuma from his pocket towards a button on the ship's exterior which triggered a trap door mechanism, sending Fadros plummeting into the London streets below, presumably killing him.

This was enough to intimidate his underlings into never returning to Earth under the Doctor's orders; however, much to the Doctor's fury, Harriet Jones ordered the ship destroyed, leading to the Doctor whispering into her assistant's ear "don't you think she looks tired?" triggering her downfall.

Personality[]

Fadros was a very proud, cocky, arrogant and overzealous individual who saw his own species as superior to all others and saw the Earth as a mere prize to be won by him. He also feigned a sense of honour by following his people's tradition of duelling a worthy enough challenger however this proved to be fake when he was willing to kill the Doctor when his back was turned out of fury.

He also appeared to have something of a sense of humour, using modern 21st century slang such as "Sycoraxs rock!" and laughing at Rose Tyler's attempt to drive him away from invading earth.

Appearance[]

Fadros was a tall, gaunt being with red skin, forked teeth and bone like armour, he was draped in maroon robes with several trinkets and items of jewellery adorning him. He looked mostly similar to others in his species in this regard although was the only one who regularly had his face exposed as opposed to using a face plate.

Trivia[]

Fadros has became a fan favourite among fans of the revived series due to his memorable design and performance as well as his sense of humour and being the first of many villains featured in the yearly Christmas specials.
Fadros could be seen as partially responsible for the rise of Harold Saxon since he inadvertently was responsible for deposing of his predecessor Hariot Jones as well as being the one who cut off The Doctor's hand leading to Saxon ultimately coming into possession of it, allowing him to use the technology supplied by Richard Lazarus to suspend The Doctor's regeneration capabilities.
Fadros was never credited as such on-screen; he was merely credited as "Sycorax leader".
In the sequel comic The Widow's Curse, his wife, the Haxan Craw, leads her fellow widows in a vengeful attack on Earth.
- In The Name of the Doctor, the Great Intelligence mentions the death of the Sycorax leader, among others, to counter the claim that the Doctor was not "blood soaked".
