The Fairy Godmother is a major character in Serena Valentino's A Tale Of book series. She is Cinderella's Fairy Godmother from Disney's Cinderella and serves as an antagonist in Mistress of All Evil: A Tale of the Dark Fairy, and a redeemed antagonist in Cold-Hearted: A Tale of the Wicked Stepmother.
Past[]
As seen in Cinderella (1950), she is responsible for putting Cinderella in position to find her true love, by magically providing her a ball-gown and a carriage. As seen in Lady Tremaine's story in the book Cold-Hearted, she appeared with Nanny, Circe and the Odd Sisters at the ball, ignoring Tremaine's pleas for help and seeing to it that Cinderella gets her happy ending.
Mistress of All Evil: A Tale of the Dark Fairy[]
Fairy Godmother appears as a teacher at the Fairylands Academy. She does not do anything about Flora, Fauna and Merryweather's bullying of Maleficent and actually takes part in it. Eventually, Maleficent turns evil after one of the Godmother's rants against her.
The Odd Sisters: A Tale of the Three Witches[]
Fairy Godmother helps put an end to the Odd Sisters' power over the Many Kingdoms, listing their charges over the course of the books (from Snow White to Rapunzel), while still maintaining a black-and-white view on the "villains" the sisters had turned evil. She was also reluctant about the idea of extending the fairies' reach beyond princesses-to-be.
Cold-Hearted: A Tale of the Wicked Stepmother[]
Fairy Godmother receives a letter from Cinderella (who is now a Queen), asking for help regarding her stepsisters, Anastasia Tremaine and Drizella Tremaine, who are trapped in Cinderella's chateau by the Godmother, living in fear of their deranged mother. The Godmother was very reluctant about this, even throwing a tantrum which breaks her wand, despite Nanny encouraging her to and threatening to help Cinderella herself. They eventually resolve to read Lady Tremaine's story, after which Fairy Godmother agrees, and she and Nanny go over to the chateau together.
They try to speak to Tremaine, but got turned away, so Fairy Godmother turns her into a statue in the attic. They then make the house as good as new, turn Anastasia and Drizella into princesses and provide a carriage for them to ride to the castle and apologise to their queenly stepsister.
