The Fairy Shoeperson (as his name suggests) or the Shoe Fairy is a fairy-type entity from Sesame Street who appeared in episode 4162: he was a largely neutral being but still proved to be an antagonist in the manner of a magical nuisance and caused trouble throughout his short stay on the show.
He was portrayed by Neil Patrick Harris, who also played Replay in Static Shock, Ray Thompson in Justice League, John Tagman in Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Dr. Horrible in Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, DJ Veteran Child in the Saints Row video games, Music Meister in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Dr. Blowhole in The Penguins of Madagascar, Chester Creb in American Horror Story: Freak Show, Count Olaf in the 2017 A Series of Unfortunate Events television series, The Analyst in The Matrix Resurrections and the Toymaker in Doctor Who.
History[]
The Fairy Shoeperson appears when Telly Monster accidentally made a wish for shoes. When asked what kind of shoes he has, the Shoe Fairy breaks into a song (and dance) as he magically puts all kinds of shoes on everyone on Sesame Street (whether or not they need them).
One of the songs is finished, Telly suggests that the Fairy Shoeperson surprise him with any shoe at all. The latter blows his shoe horn, and the first pair Telly gets on his feet is a pair of running shoes, which help him run, but not stop. Thus, the Shoeperson gives him some ballet shoes, which make him pirouette out of control.
The Fairy Shoeperson, getting more and more impatient, once again blows his horn and gives Telly a pair of sensible-looking shoes, which are actually elevator shoes, as they lifted him higher and higher. As Telly doesn't need them to balance on, Fairy Shoeperson, fed up with him, disappears.

Trivia[]
- While a tame antagonist Sesame Street is known for preferring small-scale antagonists as violence and cruelty would be out of place (an exception is made for Huxley, one of the few "evil" characters to be made for the franchise).
- He is obviously a parody of the Tooth Fairy and his troublesome alterations of reality make him similar to beings like Glitch Gremlin, Impossible Man and Mister Mxyzptlk.
