Fake Chainsaw Man is a major antagonist in Chainsaw Man Part 2: Academy Saga.
He and his younger twin brother were initially well intentioned yet fanatical fans of the real Chainsaw Man, who rescued and made a contract with the Fire Devil and joined the Chainsaw Man Church. However, during an encounter with the Famine Devil, the two are killed and resurrected into pawns of the Death Devil with his new ordered goal being to plunge humanity into an abyss of terror.
Appearance[]
Fake Chainsaw Man in his brief appearance as a human was a young man of above average height with with short white hair a wore a standard high school uniform like his brother. While transformed he is a grotesque muscular amalgamation of bone and metal with protruding chainsaw's out of his head and arms similarly to Denji, he also wears a flesh like cape around his back.
Personality[]
From what could be gleamed of and said by the Fire Devil of Fake Chainsaw man's personality as a human, he alongside his younger twin brother were kind hearted and held a high amount of respect for Chainsaw Man and a strong belief of justice. He and his brother rescued a weakened Fire Devil and saved its life (though believed it to be the Justice Devil) out of the kindness of their hearts. To go about acting as a symbol of hope and to help those in need he requested the Fire Devil to aid in their mission in which it would grant he and his twin brother contracts to turn into their own forms of justice. In the form of Chainsaw Man, he would use the abilities granted to him by the Fire Devil to save a life.
However when the real Chainsaw Man fought the Cockroach Devil and opted to left Fake Chainsaw Man's twin die in order to rescue a cat, the Fake became disillusioned with his hero and sought revenge. However to still fight for justice, Fake Chainsaw Man would hunt Devil's like Yuko. As the Fire Devil resides within his body he has a great amount of trust in them, claiming they've never steered him wrong or made mistakes in its judgements.
When Fake Chainsaw Man encountered Fami and attempted, albeit failed, to stop her from killing a student the two were both bound and restrained by the Falling Devil and Death Devil, where they were subsequently killed and eaten by the latter then resurrected to be her pawns and bring about humanity's end. Under her brainwashing and due to the already present resentment in his heart, Fake Chainsaw Man's belief of justice shifted into callous and hypocritical self righteousness, as upon encountering and recognizing the real Chainsaw Man he attempted to kill him out of revenge for his brother while criticizing his relationship with Yoru. While doing so, he abandoned his initial heroic values and used his connections with the Fire Devil's abilities to force other contracted civilians into fusing with him and using their fear and agony to torture Chainsaw Man.

Background[]
At some point in time, the man that would become Fake Chainsaw Man and his twin brother rescued the Fire Devil while it was heavily injured and took it in saving its life. The two told the Devil they were inspired by Chainsaw Man to bring about justice to the world and wanted the Fire devils help in their mission to do so, agreeing with the boys it granted his twin unknown powers while he was given the power near identical to that of his hero, while the same Devil took residence in his body. At some point after the two used their abilities to rescue a life greatly impressing the Fire Devi.
Justice Devil Arc[]
By early 1998, Denji fought the Cockroach Devil and was given the choice between saving Fake Chainsaw Man's twin brother or elderly civillians, choosing to do neither and rescued a cat instead. After seeing his twins demise Fake Chainsaw Man abandoned any respect he had for his former hero and sought to one day get revenge on him. At some later point, he found a fellow contractor of the Fire Devil, Yuko and proceeded to decapitate her while she was sleeping and seemingly eats the remains, presumably due to both he and the Fire Devil seeing her as an evil doer.
Current Arc[]
In June of 1999, at school Fake Chainsaw Man is alerted by the Fire Devil, with it still residing in his body, that Fami has arrived on earth and is attempting to kill a fellow student, on the rooftop he sees her and transforms into his Devil form preparing for combat while announcing his intentions. After cutting apart Fami twice, he reveals that he is aware of her true nature as one of the Four Horsemen the "Death Devil", though Fami corrects him and reveals she's actually the Famine Devil. Before he can process this information they are subdued by the Falling Devil and the real Death Devil, where she explains her motivations and cannibalizes the two to death, after coughing up their remains she resurrects them as her pawns and orders the two to bring about an apocalypse to which he agrees.
Some time later, Fake Chainsaw Man tracks down Denji and Yoru while they bike through town, and easily deflects one of her bullets into a building, as he approaches them he criticizes his former hero for his newfound relationship with Yoru and goes to take his life, Denji however avoids his strike and cuts off his arm while transformed. Unfazed, Fake Chainsaw Man merely questions if Denji understands the mistake he just made while citizens fall toward them due to Falling Devil's ability, while Denji manages to catch one he criticizes him for only catching a woman. After Yoru kills the woman, she shoots Fake Chainsaw, though he dodges and cuts apart the rubble. While doing this Denji bisects his other arm while his guard was dropped, initially thinking this was Denji and Yoru's plan from the start he immediately denies this. While Yoru attempts to shoot him again, Fake Chainsaw summons hordes of Chainsaw hybrid fire devil contractors to block the shot, he then has them merge with his body into becoming large grotesque arms with protruding heads and seemingly reverts part of them back into humans. Fake Chainsaw Man reveals his intentions to see if Denji can cut through innocent people to stop him, as he punches down on his former hero, while Denji dodges the civilians are injured as a result.
Fake Chainsaw Man continues his assault, swinging at his former hero and punching through debris, causing his civilian victims to writhe in agony. They suggest that Denji target Fake Chainsaw's heart in order to kill him and save the rest of them from this torture, however Fake Chainsaw lunges down and delivers a powerful slam with Denji just narrowly avoiding it. While spotting an opening Denji attempts to strike directky at his heart, however Fake Chainsaw Man reveals he placed a human in the center of where his heart would be forcing Denji to hesitate. Fake Chainsaw Man then proceeds to punch his former hero at full force into the fourth floor of a six story building. After Denji emerges from the rubble, Fake Chainsaw Man confronts him. Out of options Denji makes one final plea to spare the fake if he releases the civilians out of his body and surrenders. Fake Chainsaw Man refuses and lunges at Denji, leading to the latter to decapitate his head and split directly through his heart, killing Fake Chainsaw man and releasing the civilians from his control. The Fire Devil then emerges from his corpse asking Denji if he remembers the mans real face.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Contract absorption: Due to the Fire Devil residing in his body, Fake Chainsaw Man is able to manipulate and absorb any person that was turned into a chainsaw hybrid via their "contracts" with the former, in which he can use to regenerate his limbs and add mass to his body. Additionally, it appears he can even negate some of their transformation to make them conscious of their environment while absorbed.
- Regeneration: Fake Chainsaw Man like hybrids, fiends, and Devils is able to regenerate or heal himself by drinking blood and, because of this, he can sustain all kinds of lethal injuries, such as being bisected.
- Hybrid Transformation: Due to the Fire Devil's contract, Fake Chainsaw is able to transform into and utilize the powers similarly to that of Denji and the Chainsaw Devil. Like the former he triggers his transformation by revving a chainsaw pull cord located on his chest.
- Chainsaw Protrusions: In his Hybrid form, Fake Chainsaw is equipped with chainsaws that come out of both of his arms, which he can use to attack enemies. He's also able to retract them at will.
- Enhanced Strength: Fake Chainsaw Man on top of his already lethal utilization of Chainsaw's possesses strength that exceeds that of an average Devil hybrid. He is so far the only hybrid shown capable of blocking and deflecting a Gun Devil bullet shot by Yoru one of the Four Horsemen, something that not even the real Chainsaw Devil could achieve.
Trivia[]
- Given Fake Chainsaw man's true identity as a clear haired youth and his revenge driven motive against Denji, it would appear that he was indeed not the black haired youth that appeared in the Chainsaw Man Church Arc proclaiming to have Chainsaw Man's powers.
- However, it is unclear if the boy was merely lying as a cover to hide the Real Fake Chainsaw Man's identity or if the Fire Devil also granted him abilities, as a youth displaying powers similiar to Fake Chainsaw and Denji saved the latter's life alongside Asa Mitaka during the Justice Devil arc did not display any malice toward the two and was largely respectful.
