~ Red before assaulting Fadden's girlfriend with Fargo. |
Fargo and Red are the secondary antagonists in the 1984 live-action vigilante/gang movie Savage Streets.
They are both members of The Scars and the right-hand men of Jake, their leader. Like Jake, they too want revenge against their rival gang, the Satins, for trashing their car and they share a habit of sexually harassing or assaulting anyone they come across with Jake.
They are portrayed by Sal Landi and Scott Mayer respectively.
Personality[]
Both Fargo and Red are absolutely sadistic, arrogant, and perverted, let alone would they not be one above doing violent things, and are a duo of misogynists who target and assault women whenever they like.
They also aren't above going far with murdering someone or harming others out of pettiness, which was shown when they encouraged Jake to throw Francine off the bridge as Red laughed at her corpse and Fargo smirked while he tormented "the bride all drenched in red". Despite their companionship with Jake and Vince, the two are alright with bullying Vince and they share the same mutual sadism alongside Jake while there are times they goofed around, such as Fargo kissing Jake, though it didn't mean it was out of love. Even if the two of them are partners, they are times they never got along when they fought over violating Heather next and when Fargo advised Red to talk bad at Jake and not him, it also proves they don't really respect Jake much except they do so out of mutualism.
Then in Red's part, he is shown to be a bit cunning and wary compared to Fargo as he was able to manipulate Heather to stay by simply making a friendly facade and was able to notice Brenda's presence upon encountering her again, knowing something is wrong but risked it if it meant getting back at her earlier. Like Jake, they too are petty but Red shows a much more cowardly side of himself upon seeing Fargo murdered shortly afterward.
Biography[]
Not much is on Fargo and Red's history together, though it is assumed they joined Jake and formed the Scars together, then at that point, Vince would join them a little later. They are both Jake's right-hand men and they usually assist him in their actions together and partake in them out of mutual sadism together, as well as sexually harassing women.
They were first seen when they and Jake invited Vince for a boys' night out. While they were conversing, drinking, smoking, and hitting on women on the road, Fargo ends up almost hitting Brenda's deaf sister, Heather, which started a few between them and the Satins. Fargo was forced to apologize when Jake held his wrist while Red just laughed as the girls declined Jake's invitation to have them join him and the gang. Fargo and Red then ambushed Fadden with Jake and Vince as they got hold of his girlfriend, while Jake was dealing with Fadden about the debt, Fargo and Red sexually assaulted the girl by playing with her breasts, even removing her top, as they taunted how Fadden wouldn't pay up. Red then forced Vince to feel the girl's chest as they then laughed at Jake kicking Fadden painfully.
While they, Jake, and Vince sent a duo of dope dealers to start selling, they were distracted for a moment when the Satins stole their car and trashed it as they crashed after them, which later they'll angrily breakdown with Fargo swearing revenge by killing them. They are then seen with Jake at Vince and Brenda's school to confront Fadden about the dope and money before they were told off by the principal, only to laugh at his face. As soon as they went off while messing with Vince and perving on underaged cheerleaders on the field, Fargo and Red soon spotted Heather heading into the gym, which gave them and Jake an idea for revenge as Red is then seen interacting with Heather as a means to get back at Brenda.
Red proceeds to talk to Heather while teaching her inappropriate signs and forcibly kissing her, which he, Jake, Fargo, and Vince cornered her as they soon assaulted and kissed her inappropriately before he and Fargo dragged her into a bathroom stall. They were seen holding down Heather as they continue groping her before they and Jake encouraged Vince to violate her as if it was his birthday, having their new member force himself onto Heather against his will. Fargo and Red would soon fight over having a turn raping Heather before Jake stopped them, though Fargo kisses him and laughed as he lets Red proceed with raping Heather before Fargo was next. When someone was coming, they both escaped with Jake and Vince, though Heather was left in a coma by the latter as the girl was later found and taken to the hospital.
They soon as they picked up Vince with Jake, they arrived at the same club where Brenda was grieving over the incident with her sister, and they threatened Fadden as soon as they spotted him about the money. When he did give them what he owed, he left as they taunted him before leaving, even pressuring Vince ever further before messing with him again. Fargo then pulls over a blonde woman just to further tease Vince while sexually assaulting her till he let her go when the latter wasn't "interested, then proceeds to take hold of Francine when Jake hauled her over to him then to the former as he kissed her forcibly. Fargo then lets go of Francine as Red holds her when he was "forced to apologize" in front of the two men who tried to stop this, which resulted in Fargo punching the latter and broke into a club fight with them alongside Jake. Francine's boyfriend, Richie, tries to fight to get them to let Francine go, and Jake tries to strangle him. Seeing her boyfriend in danger, Francine bites Red and he loses his hold on her. Francine takes Red's switchblade and slashes Jake's cheek in the process, after which both Fargo and Red retreated with Jake and Vince that night.
Vince meets up with Red, Fargo, and Jake on the bleachers, as they discuss the rumors of Heather's incident, Fargo responds to Vince's question regarding if she'll die, which he doesn't care about it, and even advised Vince about keeping it to himself along with Red in a threatening way. They later, along with Jake and Vince, chased after Francine who was on her planned wedding day out of spite and then later cornered her along with Jake on top of the viaduct. They helped Jake torment her further until Jake proceeds to throw her off the edge, pushed Vince aside, and incited their leader into killing her despite Vince's protests. With Francine dead, Fargo and Red laughed at her corpse as Fargo throws her wedding dress onto the ground while quoting how she is a bride "drenched in red", though Vince leaves them for what they did, Fargo stops Jake from going after him as he and Red got away from the scene with their leader.
On the night Jake left them back at the garage to handle things with Vince himself, Fargo and Red then encountered Brenda in front of the garage door with Red knowing something is off. However, as Brenda dared them to come after her, they intend to rape and kill her once and for all within the storage area as Fargo had Red armed with a fire axe and proceeded to chase after her. Fargo tries finding her through a game of "hide the salami" with Red looking over the place without knowing they're being separated into her trap, though Fargo finds a recorder and realized this before having to confront Brenda over what he'll do her, but she then raised her crossbow and shot him in the throat.
Red then finds Fargo's corpse without knowing he is actually dead, until he turned the body over and saw the arrow in his throat. Red is frightened so bad, when Brenda surprised him and raised her bow at him, as if to shoot him, too, he dropped his axe and he fell backwards and got caught in the three bear traps Brenda set up, crushing his arm, neck, and skull, and he died slowly. Their corpses at later seen in front of Jake as he opened up the garage to find the bodies all shocked and frightened, which he is later killed by Brenda for what the three of them did to her sister and her best friend.
