Larry, more commonly known by his supervillain name, Fartor, is a supporting antagonist in the Canadian action-adventure cartoon Grossology. Fartor is a supervillain who was forced to breathe in his farts due to the cruel torment he suffered from his older brother, Gary. Gary would trap Larry under the bedsheets or confine him to enclosed spaces and fart on him. After enduring this for 15 years, Larry's lungs became so accustomed to the smell that oxygen became poisonous to him. Fartor's primary goal in life is to pollute the entire world with his farts.

He was voiced by Sean Cullen, who also voices George Newport in The Vanishing of City Hall, Arthur Pruitt in Law & Order, and Lucius Heinous VII in Jimmy Two-Shoes.

Personality

In the animated series Grossology, Fartor(real name Larry) is a bitter, vengeful, and somewhat tragic villain, driven by a deep-seated desire for retribution against his older brother, Gary.

• Vengeful and Obsessive: His primary motivation is an intense desire for revenge. He was severely and continuously abused (emotionally and physically, through "Dutch oven" pranks) by his brother Gary throughout his childhood, while their parents did nothing. This trauma fuels his adult villainy, and all his schemes are ultimately aimed at making Gary suffer or transforming the world into an environment where only he can thrive.

• Misanthropic (towards oxygen-breathers): As a result of adapting to breathe only the gases in farts (clean, oxygenated air is toxic to him), he resents normal human beings and seeks to terraform the Earth into a giant gas planet, making it habitable for himself and uninhabitable for everyone else.

• "Jerkass Woobie": While a clear villain with destructive plans, his backstory is genuinely sad, leading some to view him as a "Woobie" (a character who suffers greatly). His brother's complete lack of remorse as an adult only emphasizes the injustice he experienced, making his bitterness understandable, even if his methods are extreme.

• Intelligent (in a twisted way): He is a capable villain who can manufacture products (like gas-inducing ketchup, "flatchup") and build complex machines (like the giant robot Fartzilla) to achieve his gassy goals.

• Lonely (ultimately): He is ultimately a lonely figure. In one episode, after his plan backfires and he is stranded on the moon, he is seen to be happy there, though lonely, as he can finally breathe the methane in peace.

In essence, Fartor is a character defined by the prolonged psychological and physical abuse he endured, channeling that pain into elaborate, disgusting plots for revenge.

Biography

Fartor first appears in the episode "Fartzilla" where he sends an army of robot chefs and a new food item called Flatchup to start an epidemic of farting in the city to fuel the titular robot in an act of vengeance against his brother, Gary, for torturing and mutating him with his farts. Ty soon taunts him after remembering methane is combustible, and launches his jetpack into the cannon in the rear end of the robot, causing it to explode. Fartor then vows vengeance against them.
