|~ Father Solomon|
Father Soloman is a witch-hunter and the secondary antagonist of the 2011 romantic horror fantasy drama film Red Riding Hood.
He was portrayed by Gary Oldman, who also played Ruber in Quest for Camelot, Egor Korshunov in Air Force One, Dreyfus in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Mason Verger in Hannibal, Count Dracula in Dracula, Norman Stansfield in Léon: The Professional, Vladislav Dukhovich in The Hitman's Bodyguard, General Grawl in Planet 51, Drexl Spivey in True Romance, Lord Vortech in Lego Dimensions, Lord Shen in Kung Fu Panda 2, Carnegie in The Book of Eli and Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg in The Fifth Element.
Although he may seem like a trustworthy priest and a man of God, Father Solomon is, in reality, paranoid and downright insane. He is not above murdering innocent people as he murdered the town priest and also murdered Roxanne's younger autistic brother Claude by locking him up and roasting him in his iron elephant. He also appears sadistic, as he clearly enjoyed hearing Claude's screams while the autistic boy was slowly getting roasted alive in the iron elephant.
In his home town, Father had a wife named Penelope, whom he murdered upon discovering that she was a werewolf due to her amputated paw (which was in his bag) turning back into her hand and she, at the same time, had a bloody rag around her wrist. From his deceased wife, he has two young daughters who feared for their father and, later in the film, became orphans due to his death.
Father Solomon arrives at the village with his knights to find the Wolf. At first the people think he is best suited for the job but the village priest, Father Auguste, has concerns. Father Auguste sees Father Solomon for who he really is, a paranoid and insane man, when he witnesses Father Solomon execute Roxanne's autistic brother Claude in a large iron elephant that Father Solomon brought with him (The elephant is based on the Bronze Bull used in Ancient Greece). Father Solomon tries to use Valerie as bait to catch the Wolf although Henry and Peter rescue her.
When Peter is captured by Father Solomon's guards, Father Solomon orders to have Peter put in the elephant (except that the guards forgot to light a fire underneath, resulting in Peter escaping). Father Solomon kills Father Auguste when Auguste saves Henry. When Father Solomon tries to kill the Wolf, the Wolf bites his hand off, resulting in Father Solomon being executed so that he will not turn into a wolf himself.
