William Wallace, we've come to fight and to die for you!
~ Faudron, introducing himself to Wallace.

Faudron was a minor antagonist in the 1995 film Braveheart. He was portrayed by the Scottish actor Jimmy Chisholm.

Shortly after William Wallace had begun his rebellion against King Edward and the English forces, Faudron and Stephen the Irishman approached Wallace at his camp and offered their services to Wallace. Faudron tried to ingratiate himself with Wallace by kneeling in front of the man, to which Wallace told him to stand up since he wasn't the Pope. Faudron then gave Wallace a cloth that he claimed his wife had made for Wallace. Something about Faudron's manner had raised Stephen's suspicions and Stephen decided to keep watch over Wallace.

Not long after, Wallace was in the woods hunting for the group's next meal when he spotted a deer. While setting up to shoot the deer, Wallace failed to notice Faudron coming up behind him, preparing to take his head off. Fortunately for Wallace, Stephen was there to impale Faudron with his own dagger before Faudron could murder Wallace. Afterwards, Stephen told Wallace the Almighty had sent Stephen to watch Wallace's back and he hadn't liked Faudron, feeling the man "wasn't right in the head."

Trivia[]

  • Faudron's actual motives for trying to assassinate Wallace are never made clear in the film, if he was employed by the English, one of the Scottish nobles, or if the attempt on Wallace's life was because of some sort of clan rivalry.
