Biography[]
During the full moon, Felurian can interact with the human realm. During this time, she lures men into the Fae realm by singing this song:
“ | cae-lanion luhial di mari felanua kreata tu ciar tu alaran di. dirella. amauen. loesi an delian tu nia vor ruhlan Felurian thae. |
„ |
There they have vigorous sex, with the man unable to control himself. The men usually die from exhaustion. If they survive, Ferulian eventually grows bored of them and sends them back to the human realm, and they are driven insane from leaving her.
After hunting bandits in the Eld, Kvothe spotted Felurian. He intentionally got lured by her due to his own curiosity. After they initially had sex, Kvothe managed to control himself using the heart of stone. Felurian tried to take control back, but Kvothe stopped her using the name of the wind, and perhaps also the name of Felurian herself. He had the ability to kill her but didn't.
Afterwards, Kvothe played music for her which she enjoyed. He appealed to her vanity by playing songs about her. He then played an intentionally insulting song about her. When she grew angry, he told her he would need more time to write about her in the human world, to compare her with mortal women, so she would have to let him go.
Kvothe stayed with Felurian for a long time. During this time, Felurian explained to him much about Fae lore. She told him about how Iax stole the moon, which sparked the creation war. When the moon is full, Fae and humans can easily go into each others' worlds, but duing a night with no moon, humans can get trapped in the fae. This is why a moonless night is one of the three things wise men fear. Kvothe asked her about the Chandrian, and she threatened to kill him if he asked again.
Felurian started to make a shado cloak, or shaed, for Kvothe, During this time, Kvothe wandered away and encountered the Cthaeh. When he returned, he was severely traumatized by what he heard. Felurian tried to comfort him, but had no idea how to deal with human emotion.
Eventually, Kvothe decided to leave the Fae. Felurian made him promise that he would return after he finished the song about her.
